Last year marked an incrediblechapter in City-Bay history - our50th anniversary. What began in1973 with just over 1,600 runners hasgrown into one of Australia’s mosticonic fun runs, bringing togethertens of thousands of participants,volunteers, and supporters fromacross the country.In 2024, we celebrated five decadesof fitness, community, andresilience. 3KMThe 3 km event is all about fun, family, andcommunity spirit, making it the perfect way toexperience the energy of City-Bay in a relaxed andinclusive setting. Starting at 10:00 am at MorphetvilleJunction, Camden Park, for everyone—runners,walkers, and wheelchair users. Arrive by 9:00 am toallow time to settle in and get ready. This short,friendly course is all about fun and communityspirit, giving everyone the chance to enjoy the raceday excitement. With no time pressures, you canrun, walk, or jog at your own pace and focus onhaving a great time. The finish line at Glenelgpromises a festive welcome and a sense ofaccomplishment for all participants.9
6KMThe 6 km event starts on Anzac Highway at KurraltaShopping Centre in Kurralta Park, with runnersbeginning at 9:00 am and walkers and wheelchairparticipants at 8:00 am. We suggest arriving by8:30 am for runners or 9:00 am for walkers andwheelchair users to get ready at the start line. The 6km course is perfect for families, social groups, andfirst-timers who want to experience the joy of raceday without the longer distance. Along the way, you’llbe carried by the excitement of the cheering crowdsand the atmosphere that makes this event sospecial. Every participant will finish at Glenelg, whereyou’ll join thousands of others celebrating theirefforts on the coast.Presented by Sunday Mail10
12KMThe 12 km event is our most popular distance andthe heart of the City-Bay Fun Run! Starting at8:00 am for runners from Festival Theatre, withwalkers and wheelchair participants beginning at8:30 am. Runners should aim to arrive by 7:00 am,and walkers or wheelchair users by 7:30 am, givingyou plenty of time to prepare and soak up theexcitement at the start. Whether you’re running forspeed or enjoying a steady pace, the 12 km courseoffers a fantastic way to experience the City-Bayatmosphere. All participants finish at Glenelg, wherethe post-race energy is waiting for you.11
21.1KMGet ready for the ultimate challenge of the day! TheHalf Marathon kicks off at 6:00 am from Glenelg, sowe recommend all runners arrive by 5:30 am to allowtime for warm-ups and settling into the start lineatmosphere. The Half Marathon is a true highlight ofthe event, attracting both seasoned athletes chasingpersonal bests and passionate runners taking on thedistance for the first time. The course offers a uniquemix of challenge and inspiration, with thecamaraderie of fellow runners and theencouragement of supporters lining the streetskeeping you motivated from start to finish. Allfinishers will cross the line at Glenelg, greeted bycheering crowds and post-race celebrations.Presented by Channel 9 News12
All participants who have selected in-person collection must pick uptheir race bibs at the Bib Collection Expo before race day. The Expo servesas your one-stop location to collect your race number, ask any questionsabout the event, make any event changes and browse stalls for last-minute race gear. CHANGES &TRANSFERSIf you need to modify your event distance or transfer your registrationto another participant, please visit us at our Bib Collection Expo. We’ll behappy to assist you with the process.Please note that all changes and transfers must be completed inperson at the Expo, by 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 20th, 2025.If your bib has not been mailed, you will need to collect your bib at theexpo and then make your way to changes & transfers to completeyour change or transfer.If your bib has already been mailed, you must bring it to the Expo tocomplete the transfer. We will not be able to process any changeswithout your original bib.If a friend or family member is collecting and arranging the changeon your behalf, they will need to provide a signed and written note ofauthorisation.Please note, the new participant’s name and date of birth must beupdated in our database at the time of transfer.Please note:A $10 administration fee will apply for any changes to your eventdistance.If you are upgrading your distance, you will be required to pay theprice difference.If you are reducing your distance, no refund will be provided for thedifference in cost.Transfers to another participant incur no additional cost, as long asthere are no changes to the event distance.14

Bag drop-off will be available for all participants. Each startline will have a designated drop-off area, and all bags willbe transported from each start line to the collection point onthe corner of Anzac Highway & Adelphi Terrace on WigleyReserve as shown in the map below.If you would like your bag sent to the pick-up area at WigleyReserve, please simply fill out the tags on the bottom of yourrace number and provide them to the volunteers at thebaggage collection area at your start line.Please ensure that you keep your valuables with you at alltimes. We are unable to take loose items such as a wallet ormobile phone. PUBLICTRANSPORTThe Glenelg tram line will be closed between South Terrace, Adelaide andMoseley Square, Glenelg until late January 2026. This is to allow for majorworks as part of the Tram Grade Separation Projects. There will besubstitute bus services in place for all closures. For race day, a range of public transport options are available to helpyou get to and from the event with ease. Detailed information ontransport services have been prepared to make planning your journeysimple and stress-free. Half marathon, 12km, and 6km competitors will berecorded by the ‘DAG’ electronic timing system.Please note that 3km entrants will not be timed.The timing system activates only after you havecrossed the start line.NEED TO KNOWRACE BIBThe 'DAG' timing device is affixed to the back ofyour bib. Under no circumstances should youremove, bend, or roll it up, as this could damagethe timing chip. The bib you received indicates theevent you have entered and includes your nameon the back if sent by mail. If any information isincorrect, please contact the City-Bay officeimmediately for corrections.TIMING CHIPFINISH INSTRUCTIONSAs you cross the finish line, a marshal holding atiming bat will approach you to confirm your finaltime. This step is essential to ensure your time isaccurately recorded. Please do not stop at thefinish line—walk promptly through the channelspast the marshals with timing bats. Afterward,head to the post-race area to celebrate youraccomplishment with other runners, grab a pieceof fruit from the Foodland tent, and rehydrate withMt Lofty Springs and Posaca Hydrate.FIRST AID AND MEDICAL SUPPORTThe Royal Flying Doctor Service will be at the HalfMarathon start, 12km start, 9km water station, 6kmwater station, 3km water station & at the finish line.COURSE COURTESYWe kindly request that walkers and runners staypredominantly on the left side of the path toaccommodate our wheelchair participants, whoare requested to stay on the right side.31

The VillageThe City-Bay Village is where the celebrations continue, spread acrossColley Terrace and Wigley Reserve and buzzing with food, entertainment,and local offerings. It’s the heart of the post-race atmosphere, bringingtogether participants, supporters, and the South Australian community.As soon as you cross the finish line, head straight to the Village to kick offyour post-race experience. Start by grabbing some fresh, complimentaryfruit from the Foodland tent to recharge, or sip on a barista coffee fromone of our local vendors. From there, make your way to the Sportsmedtent, where therapists will be on hand to provide free post-run massagesand recovery tips to help ease sore muscles and get you feeling yourbest after the race. To end the day, head to the main stage, wherepresentations will begin at 10:00 AM to celebrate the incredibleachievements of all participants.Once the presentations wrap up, take time to explore the stalls andactivations. Many will be offering products, experiences, and evenexclusive complimentary services just for City-Bay participants.
