We believe the invisible wounds ofpsychological trauma deserve healing. And we believe that functionality andproductivity can only flourish when anindividual and her community aremore-than-surviving. #TogetherWeThriveTHRIVE is proud to have women-ledoperations in both our Uganda and USaffiliates. In Gulu and the nearby districts, wehave a team of about thirty staff, includingprofessional counselors; specialists ingender-based violence, literacy, finance, andempowerment; and support staff—all nativeUgandans. Half of our senior management isfemale. Our international affiliate isrepresented by two women, our ExecutiveDirector, Mah-Séré Keita, based in Mali, andour Operations & Development Director,based in the US.As a locally led organization, our peoplecome from the communities that we serve,forging relationships that empower ourbeneficiaries to guide the programs weprovide, fulfilling our promise—Nothing aboutUs without Us.THRIVEGulu is a trauma recoveryorganization. Established in 2010 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we supportsurvivors of the atrocities of the 1986-2006Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) insurgency,refugees from South Sudan, and survivors ofgender-based violence. We supportindividuals of all ages and genders, withpriorities on the welfare of girls and women inour holistic interventions.THRIVE’s vision is for a Northern Uganda inwhich all people are treated with dignity, livein safety, and have the chance to contributeto the good of the community. At the Trauma Healing & Reflection Center,individual and small-group counseling is alwaysavailable with our full-time professionalcounselor. Both walk-in sessions andappointments are welcome.
