Greetings,We are excited to be hosting this year’s LATM/LSTA joint conference atthe Raising Cane’s River Center. Our annual conference will providenumerous benefits including professional development, networkingand access to resources that can enhance teaching practices andstudent outcomes. The 2025 LATM/LSTA Conference: Igniting Curiosity: The Power of Mathand Science (https://lsta.info/annual-conference) will begin Thursday,November 6 with concurrent sessions at 8:30 AM and will lastthroughout the day, concluding with the awards ceremony. There aremany restaurants located in the downtown Baton Rouge area. Weencourage you to check out some local favorites such as The LittleVillage or Cecelia Creole Bistro for a relaxing dinner. The conferencewill continue Friday, November 7 with a half day of concurrentsessions concluding at 12:00 PM. The conference committee has worked hard preparing this wonderfulevent featuring presentations from all levels of formal and informaleducators across our state. Take this conference as an opportunity tolearn new teaching strategies or gain a deeper understanding of awide array of topics featuring mathematics, science, STEM, STEAM,and/or general classroom practices. LATM TRAVEL GRANTSThe Louisiana Association of Teachers of Mathematics isawarding up to $3000 in travel grants with each grantawarded for up to $500 to offset the expense of attending the2025 LATM/LSTA Joint Conference in Baton Rouge onNovember 6th and 7th. The money can be used to coverconference registration, lodging, meals, parking, and/or travelnot covered by other funding sources. Grant applicants will benotified of their status September 11, 2025. LSTA TRAVEL GRANTSLSTA is awarding up to 10 travel grants for $400 each tooffset the expense of attending the LATM/LSTA 2025 JointConference in Baton Rouge, LA. The money can be used tocover conference registration, lodging, meals, parking, ortravel. Grant applicants will be notified of their status at least threeweeks prior to the conference. The money will bereimbursed following the conference. The LSTA Awards Coordinator will select a committee ofscience leaders from throughout the state to score theapplications. Order of receipt or geographic location will notnecessarily be considered in the awarding of the travelgrants.
