City staff have been working hard this summer, and I am pleased to share some updates with you about ongoing work. The Parks Department accomplished so many exciting projects over the year. All of these projects are a part of the Parks Comprehensive Master Plan that was just completed this Summer with great community input. These included the construction of a new bandshell at Ferdinand Park, the addition of a Sport Court at the Eagan rink, and the installation of new dugouts at Ferdinand. The golf course also saw several improvements, including a new retaining wall landscape, updated flooring in the clubhouse, and regrading of multiple fairways. At Koch Park, a new ½ mile 10 foot 10-foot-wide pedestrian trail is under construction in the park that will connect the JFK Center to Charbonier Road. This trail is being built at no expense to the City and is part of a larger plan to eventually connect Koch Park to the existing Sunset Greenway trail. Great Rivers Greenway is currently in the planning and design stages for the remainder of the trail to make that connection. We’re pleased to report that overall crime in the City of Florissant is down 11% compared to this time last year. Through the end of June 2025, the City of Florissant has seen encouraging progress in several key crime categories:• Robberies have decreased by 53%• Motor Vehicle Thefts are down by 26%• Property Damage incidents have dropped 45%• Total Burglaries have seen an 8% decline These reductions are a direct reflection of the strong partnerships between our residents and the Florissant Police Department. Your continued involvement, whether through neighborhood watch efforts, timely reporting, or community outreach, plays a vital role in keeping our city safe. Our Health Department has been working hard every day sprucing up Lindbergh and Highway 270. The Street Department has been busy repainting the many streets that were resurfaced this Summer. Street projects planned for the next 4 years can be found on our city’s website. The Internationally Accredited Florissant Police Department continues to patrol our city day and night, keeping us all safe. The 4th of July celebration in Florissant was a major success, continuing a long-standing tradition that has become a staple for residents of Florissant and the greater North County area. The music from Real Rock Revival was awesome, and so was our fireworks show, once again! Thank you to all who came out and made that a memorable night.Mayor LowerUpcoming Events: • Tour De Florissant • Family Boo Bash

Florissant Spotlight Fall 20255Police DepartmentPD Drivin p PD Vacatio pFlorissan Polic Departmen Residen Camer Registr – A Smarter, Mor Efficien Wa t Enhanc Safet! The Florissant Police Department has upgraded and streamlined our Resident Camera Program, making it faster and more effective than ever. Our new system integrates with our investigative tools, allowing officers to quickly identify potential video evidence that could assist in solving crimes.By registering your doorbell or home surveillance cameras, you can help officers investigate incidents near your location. This registration does NOT give the Florissant Police Department access to your cameras. It simply lets us know that a camera is present at a specific location so we can contact you if needed. Why Register? • Quick & Easy - Sign up in seconds using our QR code or online link. • You Stay in Control - You decide if and when to share footage. • Secure & Confidential - Only authorized public safety personnel can access the registry. • Enhanced Investigations - Our new system helps officers act more quickly and efficiently. If you were previously registered in our camera program, you will need to re-register to ensure your information is up to date. please join us in leveraging technology to build a safer, stronger Florissant! Please visit the following link https://polaris.cameraregistry.net/registry/FlorissantMOPDSafeguar Your Childre Ge the ID' wit MCHIPThe Florissant Police Department along with the Missouri Freemasons will be hosting a one day Missouri Child Identification Program (MoCHIP) during the Florissant Fall Festival on Sunday, October 12th, 2025, 10am–3pm. The event will be held at the Florissant City Hall inside the Council Chambers. This program, FREE OF CHARGE, provides parents with critical information on their children in the event their child turned up missing or abducted. This nationally recognized program provides parents with a digital photograph, digital fingerprints, DNA swab, child information and emergency contacts, a dental bite impression, and two (2) laminated ID cards. Most importantly, all information is turned over to a parent or legal guardian on completion of the process. No child information is stored or kept by the MoCHIP program or the Florissant Police. If you've been through the MoCHIP program and have had your child ID'd, bring the mini CD back and we'll update it for you. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) strongly urges parents to have the most up-to-date information, including pictures - so if you've had your 0-4 year old ID'd in the last 6 months, it's time to do it again. It is recommended to have children ages 5-10 ID'd once a year, and when children 10 and over enter puberty you should consider having them ID'd every 6-12 months, as their features and bodies are changing drastically. Often overlooked are older teens and young adults who are actually most at risk - please urge your 14 - 21 year olds to get ID'd. It typically takes only 10-15 minutes. As a result of the efforts by the Missouri Freemason through the MoCHIP program, parents/legal guardians of over 125,000 have received this critical identification information free of charge.Make sure you mark your calendars for this event and keep your eyes open as the date approaches for more information. For more information visit the MoCHIPS web site at; www.mochip.org, MoCHIP on Facebook, or contact the Florissant Police Department Public Information Office at 314.830.6042.
