Angel Charity for Children is a non-profit organizationcomprised of 250 dedicated members representing across-section of the Tucson community. Each memberis a donor, a fundraiser and a volunteer in the operationof the organization. Through innovative fundraising, these dedicated Angels are committed to providingPima County’s children with the vibrant future theydeserve. WHO WE AREWHO WE AREAs a donor you can add to the over $33 millionalready raised as we begin our 43rd year of raisingfunds on behalf of the children in our community. WHY DONATE?WHY DONATE?Our core funding has been for capital expenditures toretire mortgages, remodel or renovate existingstructures, or build new facilities. We also fund medicalresearch and care, arts, education, and social services. We fund only agencies holding 501(c)(3) nonprofit status thatmeet the needs of children in Pima County.Because most of our administration is done in-house by our volunteermembers, we maximize the value of your donations. Your gift directlybenefits the children our beneficiaries serve. Our beneficiary selection process includes a detailed application, multiplepresentations, a thorough and professional analysis of financial statements, and a site visit to help ensure each beneficiary is a viable, sustainable entity. A variety of children’s needs are considered for funding regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual preference or national origin.Arizona ranks among the lowest in the country for funding health & human services.Your contribution will help us move up in the ranks by ensuring the longevity oflocal agencies that provide much needed services for our most vulnerablepopulation. 4Founded in 1983 by Tucsonans Louise Thomas andJane Loew Sharples, Angel Charity for Childrenretired the mortgage and expanded andremodeled the Ronald McDonald House. Each yearsince then, a thoroughly researched, tax-exemptchildren’s agency (or multiple agencies) benefitsfrom our year-round fundraising programs.
