Unlike the corporate and private sectors, ACES members are not in competition with one another, hence its ethos of openness, sharing and helping one another in their jobs. ACES – Who we are and what we do• ACES is the only professional association exclusively dedicated to public sector property. Its members, who are mostly chartered surveyors, get together to help one another do their jobs more eectively and professionally through mutual support. Members are heads of service or senior property professionals in local government or a public sector body such as the NHS and the Valuation Oce Agency, or people from the private sector who are wholly or substantially working for or on behalf of the public sector.• Established in 1908, members of ACES have been managing public sector property, to obtain best value from their organisation’s property estate, to drive economic growth to support services and objectives. Key objectives• To promote best practice in the eective use and management of property assets.• To inuence the formulation of regulation, policies and strategies governing the use of public sector property assets by attending regular meetings with the RICS and government departments.• To support and encourage its members in the continual development of their professional knowledge and eectiveness.
