Writing is one of 10 artistic disciplines in YoungArts’national competition."!The strongest submissions demonstrate a sense ofinventiveness, show attention to the complexities andtechnical aspects of language, and have a clear,original, and distinct point of view.!This discipline encompasses:!•Fiction!•Nonfiction!•Play or Script!•Poetry!•Spoken Word!Writing

•Applicant is either a citizen of the UnitedStates, a permanent resident/green cardrecipient, or can demonstrate that he/she is legally able to receive taxableincome in the United States!•In grades 10–12 or 15–18 years of ageon December 1st of the year applying"!•If applicant is selected as an awardwinner with distinction, this would behis/her first time attending NationalYoungArts Week!Competition Eligibility
