InformationTournament FormatThe tournament is a two man better ball match play. Each team will play five 9-hole matches against the other teams in their flight. The team with the highest number of points within their flight will be the flight winners. In the event of a tie, the result of the match or matches between tied team will determine the flight winners.HandicapsPlayers will be allowed 100% of their established handicaps.Flight AwardsThere will be 10 flights determined by the total team handicap. Prizes will be awarded to the flight winners and overall champions.ScoringAll matches will be determined by match play. The matches will be handicapped off the low handicap player in each foursome; he will play scratch and give the difference in strokes to the other players.One point will be scored for each hole won while one point will be deducted for each hole lost; there will be no score for holes that are tied. The maximum score in any match played will be three points the minimum will be minus three.Teams will be asked to record their best gross score and best net score on the scorecard for the match, for the skins game, and any team wagering.Rules of PlayGolf Canada Rules of Golf shall govern all play. All play will be from the blue tee markers.Play OffOn Saturday afternoon there will be a playoff featuring the ten (10) flight winners. Teams will play alternate shot format using 50% of their combined handicaps. The lowest net score on each hole and ties will continue to the next hole. All other teams will be eliminated. The last team standing will be declared the winners.Skins GameThere will be a $20.00 skins pool (already included in your entry fee). The skins pool will be divided by the number of outright skins.Para Mutual BettingBet win, place or show. To win, you must pick the exact finish of the team. All bets are in $10.00 increments. One bet per slip. Please fill out your slips in duplicate. To collect, you must have a duplicate of the slip. Pay-off is in proportion to the amount in the pool.Other RemindersThe game of golf is most enjoyable when played at a reasonable pace. Please do your part to make the day as enjoyable as possible for all our guests and Members. The following will assist in speeding up play:• Remember, it is a better ball format. There is no need for both players to hole out.• Be ready to play when the group in front is out of range or after your playing partners have completed their stroke.• Replace the flag and clear the green as quickly as possible. Mark your scores on the next tee.• With your cooperation, we hope each 9-hole match will be completed in approximately two hours.• Above all, please have fun and enjoy yourselves!
