BEK COMMUNICATIONS | BEK.COOP4The Wilton Archery Team, consisting of young athletes from grades 4-12, recently showcased their skills at the prestigious US Western National Tournament, held in Salt Lake City, Utah, on April 26 and 27. This annual event, organized by the National Archery in The Schools Program (NASP), requires teams and individuals to qualify for participation.Athletes competed in both the Bullseye and 3D Targets, demonstrating precision and strategic thinking. The elementary squad made an impressive showing by placing 24th nationally out of more than 100 teams, with several young archers achieving personal bests. In the highly competitive middle school category, a standout Wilton archer secured the 26th spot out of 374 participants. The high school competitors also held their own, with a notable performance by one student who ranked 58th out of 378.Coach Emily Risty credits the community for their generous support or more than $10,000. “It’s no small feat to send 30 kids and families to a national competition out of state.
