Fred Banks Mende Malouf Mavis James Bradley Lum Enrika WilliamsPatrick HouseThe Capital City Convention Center Commission (CCCCC), established in 2005, is tasked withoverseeing the construction, marketing, management, and operations of the Jackson ConventionComplex. Initially, the Commission decided to engage a private management company to run the facilityfrom its opening in 2009 until May 15, 2023. The Commission consists of nine appointed members representing key sectors of the community,including hotels, restaurants, and businesses. Eight members are appointed by the Mayor of Jackson,while one is appointed by the Governor of Mississippi. In 2023, the CCCCC assumed direct management of the Jackson Convention Complex, furthersolidifying its commitment to driving the success and growth of this key venue. As we close another remarkable year, I am honored to shareour annual report and reflect on the extraordinary progresswe have made. I am Cherre Miller, and with over 20 years ofexperience leading the daily operations and strategicgrowth of our City’s Convention Complex and unique eventfacility, I am privileged to guide our team through thisexciting chapter.Our journey over the past year has been nothing short oftransformative. Under new management (CCCCC), we haveembraced innovative approaches to elevate our servicesand enhance our facilities. Our strategic decision to operatewith a streamlined team, showcases our commitment tomaintaining exceptional service standards while optimizingefficiency.Our vision remains steadfast: to be industry leaders andtrailblazers, transforming ordinary events intounforgettable experiences that enrich the lives of ourguests, clients, and community. This year, we have madegreat strides in realizing this vision. We have workeddiligently to maintain and exceed the highest standards ofcustomer service, while also focusing on enhancing ourprofitability and fostering strategic relationships.I am immensely proud of how our dedicated team hasadapted and thrived despite the challenges of operatingwith fewer staff. Their resilience and commitment haveallowed us to not only meet but surpass our goals. Theirunderstanding of our core values and their ability to deliverexceptional experiences have positioned us to competeeffectively with larger cities.This year has been the best gross revenue the JCC has everseen, and this achievement is a testament to the hard work,dedication, and passion of our entire team. We appreciated their thoroughnessfrom the initial meeting to the event'sconclusion. Mrs. Williams & Ms. Callieeffectively addressed our questions. On the 1stday, there were concerns about thecontinental breakfast setup, but they quicklyresolved it, & the new location workedperfectly. We also received many complimentson the food, noted as some of the best"convention" meals served.Maleika to our dates and space requirements. Shewas very attentive to our needs &knowledgeable about the venue overall. MickeyAlways make the bookingprocess clear withcommunication & alwaysavailable for questions. We worked with Maleika andCallie. They were both veryresponsive & helpful in all areas.Menu planning is my least favoritepart of the planning. Callie wasvery patient and helpful with themenus. worked with us prior tothe conference &throughout theconference. MickeyI know the parking issues are not underyour control. Hopefully, the parking lotscan be repaved & improved before nextyear.Kaleb was very knowledgeable andefficient from the beginning of usinteracting to determine whether ourceremony would be held at theConvention Center. Once everythingwas finalized, he made sure toimmediately put us in contact withMickey to ensure that we kneweveryone involved in the eventplanning process.Mickeywas very helpful throughout the entire process of planning ourceremony. She was always available toanswer questions & went above &beyond to make sure we hadeverything we needed worked with us prior tothe conference andthroughout theconferenceMickeyMs. Yant was great! She respondedwhen the air was out in two rooms,she got a TV monitor set up andready before the event started (itshould have been donebeforehand) Every time I texted orcalled, she would respond. With this being my first time coordinatingan event of this magnitude, Mickey was sosweet. Throughout the event, she checkedon me several times and created such awelcoming environment.The staff of the JCC is outstanding. They listen with an ear to problem-solve &help youcreate an engaging and memorableexperience. Mickey was a pleasure towork with &get to know. Her ability tobridge the generational divide withprofessionalism &courtesy is trulynoteworthyParking is challenging. We got the chance to meet theoperations team the day before theevent and they were kind andefficient! They made sure everythingwas set to our preference.Shout out to Mr. Greg! He was great!The security team were my absolutefavorite. Very knowledgeable &professional. The Jackson Convention Complex isdefinitely a top tier event space, asrelated to physical accommodations,staff, &value for your money.The staff at the JacksonConvention Center were veryeasy to work with. The first-ratecatering and meeting spacescontributed to the overallsuccess of our event.The food displays for the breakswere fabulous. The food at themeals was delicious. The Jackson Convention Complex has experienced a period ofsignificant improvements and milestones, enhancing our capacity toserve as a premier event destination. Below are some keyaccomplishments:Sustainability and Efficiency Upgrades: We have installed new state- of-the-art hybrid hot water heatersystem, improved energy efficiency and reduced operational costs.Additionally, we completed the replacement of all lighting fixtureswith LED lights throughout the facility, resulting in a moreenvironmentally friendly and cost- effective solution.Facility Enhancements: Installation of a new carpet in our breakout rooms, coveringapproximately 25,000 square feet. The Jackson Convention Complex/City of Jackson is poised for one of themost significant developments on the horizon: the addition of a conventionhotel. This facility will be a vital asset, attracting larger conventions, multi-day events, and national conferences to Jackson. With the hotel, we aim toposition the Complex as a central hub for business, tourism, and culturalevents, driving increased visitor traffic and economic activity in thesurrounding area.We are also excited about the announcement of a new outdoor event space.This versatile area will provide a natural, open-air venue for a wide variety ofevents, including festivals, outdoor exhibitions, and community gatherings.The event space will complement our indoor facilities beautifully, givingevent organizers even more flexibility in creating memorable experiences forattendees. This addition will enhance the Complex's overall appeal, making itan even more attractive option for event planners and the local community.Our commitment to service excellence, coupled with ongoing enhancementsto our infrastructure and offerings, has already begun yielding recordrevenues. We anticipate continued financial growth in the coming years aswe welcome a steady stream of events and partnerships.
