This year, FosterFamily Alliance of North Carolina (FFA-NC) has demonstrated resilience and determination, facing challengesand celebrating milestones together. Key Achievements of 2024Raised nearly $90,000 in donations through communitysupporters, partner organizations, and key stakeholders.Hurricane Helene Relief EffortsDistributed essential supplies to over 50 foster familiesimpacted by the hurricane.Collaborated with community partners to provideemergency assistance and resources.Delivered 40 virtual or in-person training opportunities tofoster families.Hosted the first-ever in-person Teaming with TeensConference in Raleigh, attended by 362 teens, caregivers,and professionals. The event was a huge success.Raised approximately $12,500 at our inaugural annualgolf tournament in Monroe. Over 700 people attended our summer event at GreatWolf Lodge, a chance for families to rest, create memorieswith their kids, and connect with other families whounderstand the journey of foster care. “This was an event that many foster familiescould not otherwise do. I was able to witnesssiblings being reunited for the weekend.”Support for Resource FamiliesTraveled to Washington, D.C., to learn about policy workand advocacy, meeting with lawmakers on Capitol Hill toamplify the voices of resource families and children.Advocacy and Policy WorkFinancial OverviewSuccessfully launched the Elf Magic Project, bringing holiday joy to over 1,000 children in fostercare across North Carolina through personalized gifts and heartfelt messages from their “elves.”Holiday Elf Magic ProjectOur team has expanded to 20 staff and regional leaders, all of whom bring valuable lived experience asresource parents, social workers, foster care alumni, and educators. Collectively, we have nurtured,parented, and supported over 200 children in our homes. They have been supportive though one of thehardest times in my life when I felt like no one was listening. They are the group who I feelcares about the kids the most within the child welfare system.”
