Fiscal year 2024 has been a big one! In May, right before we began our fiscal year, we received our certificate of occupancy at 390 Pine Street in Pawtucket.Since then, we moved into our new building hostinghundreds of students every week, we expanded ourmission into affordable housing, we trained and hiredmore than a dozen new teachers, and we beganrevitalizing our neighborhood by moving in.While all of this is worth celebrating, it’s also important to note that there is more work to do because the needout there is great. In addition to all the issues that have arisen out ofhousing insecurity in our state in the past year, there isalso a mental health crisis in Rhode Island that persists;in fact, according to a report on NBC 10, “one in fivechildren has a mental health problem.” This is where Shri steps in. In addition to our programs that serve adults with disabilities, men and women in recovery, and veterans, schools are in desperate need of more community-centric services that address social and emotional learning.Under my direction, we are in the midst of creating a model in which our nonprofit can trainand license our curriculum to local schools so we can serve more students within schoolsunder their own management. We are also creating an expanded community arts programand turning our on-site annual fundraiser into a statewide inclusive celebration for all. I am also expanding and diversifying our board of directors to include licensed clinicians, businessexperts and a member of our own adaptive teaching community. While this annual report is a celebration of all we’ve accomplished in the past fiscal year, it’s also a call to action to the year ahead. With “action” being at the heart of Shri, I thank you for contributing!A Note from Our FounderDear Shri Community,P A G E 0 1J U L Y 1 2 0 2 3 - J U N E 3 0 2 0 2 4E X E C U T I V E D I R E C T O R
