Dear Partner in Ministry,As we present TEAM’s Annual Report for 2023, we are delighted to look back on a year of resilience and impactful collaboration. The updates you will find in this report reflect the collective achievements made possible through a TEAM community of increasingly globalized partnerships. Together, we’ve navigated challenges, explored new streams of ministry, and witnessed the transformative power of a shared purpose – to bring the Gospel into communities, lives, and hearts where it is not yet known. In this publication, you’ll hear the extraordinary story of Naima, a testament to the transformative power of unwavering faith in God, and the impact of commitment to spreading the Good News in challenging environments. Naima’s journey from a background steeped in spiritual complexities to becoming an ambassador for the Gospel in the Indo-Malay region is awe-inspiring. Naima and others like her catalyze TEAM’s calling to come alongside and equip global partners for expanded Gospel reach. Let Naima’s story motivate us to continue together in this Kingdom work of which you are an integral part. Through your prayers, support, and collaboration with TEAM, you make a dierence in the lives of global partners like Naima and those to whom she ministers - fostering faith, building communities, and expanding the reach of the Gospel. Despite her upbringing in a spiritual environment that combined “witch doctoring” and Islamic teachings, Naima found Christ during her college years. Her newfound faith led her to have a heart for missions, but she faced severe opposition from her parents. When Naima chose Jesus over her family’s beliefs, her father subjected her to harsh treatment, including locking her in a room without food or water for two weeks. The situation escalated when he threatened her life with a gun, demanding she renounce Christ. Remarkably, Naima stood firm, choosing Jesus despite the life-threatening ultimatum. Disowned by her family, Naima continued to share the Gospel in her community whenever possible. Over the years, her unwavering commitment bore fruit, and many in her family eventually came to faith in Christ. Still, Naima felt a call to reach other communities like hers with the transforming power of Christ. Naima connected with TEAM workers and other partner organizations working to bring the Gospel to Muslim-background communities in Indo-Malay. Through training, collaboration, and spiritual support, Naima is now an agent of change and an ambassador for the Gospel! She works with a non-government organization involved in community development projects in the Indo-Malay region. She and her team travel to dierent towns and villages, building relationships, sharing the Gospel, establishing house churches, and discipling new believers. Despite the risks and dangers associated with sharing the hope of Jesus in these “closed” regions, Naima and her team continue their tireless work, expecting persecution but motivated by their dedication to Christ. Naima’s story serves as an encouragement to other Muslim- background Christians facing similar challenges, illustrating the transformative impact of unwavering faith and commitment to spreading the Good News.
