And also, her parents, grandfather, andpet rabbit Munchie.]Why did Jolie want to earn money? [She wanted to buy strawberry plants to grow inher garden.]What did she discover when she went to the garden store? [She discovered that hermother did not have enough cash to buy her strawberry plants.]What were some of Jolie’s ideas for making money to buy strawberry plants? [She soldlemonade at a neighbor’s garage sale.] Did she make enough money selling lemonadeto buy strawberry plants? [No. She made $6.00 and one strawberry plant cost $12.00.]With her parents’ help, Jolie was able to buy twelve strawberry plants. She worked hardand turned out to be a gardener and was able to grow more strawberries than herfamily could eat. So, she took a risk and set up a “Pick Your Own Home-GrownStrawberries” stand. She became a successful entrepreneur. What do you think anentrepreneur is? [An entrepreneur is someone who starts their own business.]Do you think Jolie will continue her love for strawberries? [Yes, Jolie is a humanresource.] Then ask what tools, or capital resources Jolie is using.
