Define job as a task or piece of work for which aperson is paid.Remind the students that Jolie kept a journal and liked to record her plans for possiblefuture projects. Ask them to imagine that Jolie decided to write down things that she wasgood at to help her decide what kind of job she could do to make money to purchase theexpensive strawberry plants. Display the Visual 1: Jobs Jolie Could Do. Explain that this is how Jolie may have filled outthis form. Read the contents to the students. Ask them if they think Jolie has the potentialto turn her skills and interest into a money-making endeavor.Display Visual 2: Doing Work and Earning Money-Jobs You Could Do. Quickly review the listwith the students, explaining that these are only suggestions of jobs they could do. Theycould also follow Jolie’s example and come up with unique ways to make money.Distribute the Activity Sheet: Jobs You Could Do. Instruct the students to fill out the form,combine their interests and skills, and come up with three possible jobs they would begood at and enjoy doing.
