We also celebrate the 61stAnniversary of the Sovereign Military Order of The Temple of Jerusalem since its inception in Essex County, New Jersey, on June 13, 1962. The Grand C&I Committee Chair Linda Ross and her Committee have put together an exceptional program, and I know all in attendance will enjoy it.Those going on the NASA trip will have a great time. I have done that tour, and it is fascinating, and I know that I look forward to the “Templar Mars Dining Experience” –certainly a new one for me! Friday will kick off at 8:00 with our first general session, the breakout sessions, and later the Middle EastPanel. I hope you will attend and join me in welcoming our special guest from the Holy Land, The Rev. Canon Donald D. Binder, PhD Rev. Binder is Chaplain to The Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem and Canon Pastor of the English-Speaking Congregation, St. George's Cathedral; and Undersecretary to the Heads of the Churches in Jerusalem. Rev Binder will also speak at the Order of Merit luncheon. The Grand Prior’s Reception Friday evening will have an “It’s Five O’clock Somewhere” Jimmy Buffet theme – how can we go wrong with that?Saturday will include our General Council meeting and, of course, our Grand Convent and Investiture. A different look here this year with the C&I in the hotel ballroom. This is often the case at the C&Is held in Europe at the Grand Magisterial meetings. They work well and don’t require transportation and going out into the day's heat! Followed that evening by “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” Grand Banquet.Fellow Templars, please join me in celebrating with our host Priory of the Temple Church in Orlando, Florida.Fraternally Yours,Non nobis DomineChev. Ralph (Donald) Robinson, GCTJ, GMTJGrand Prior XXIII – GPUSA
Welcome! As Prior of your host, Priory of The Temple Church, and Chair of the 60th Anniversary GPUSA Grand Convent & Investiture Committee, and on behalf of the incoming Commandery of The Holy Trinity, I extend “warm” greetings from your fellow Templars of Florida and southern Al-abama. We have endeavored to facilitate an exemplary event that not only allows us to gather to share information, receive instruction, enjoy fellowship, and experience the impressive pag-eantry and powerful impact of our Templar ceremonies but also to begin each day in worship, end the event with an Ecumenical Service, and maintain a constant focus that refl ects our motto by doing all things for God’s glory. The GC&I ceremony Saturday promises to be spectacular with the Confi rmation of Grand Prior XXIII Ralph Donald Robinson, the induction of 12 Postulants, the presentation of awards, ele-vations in rank, inductions into the Order of Merit, and the standing up of the Commandrey of The Holy Spirit. And there are also ample occasions to become informed and assist our Tem-plar Mission in the Holy Land – from the Mid East Panel with special guest The Rev. Canon Donald D. Binder, PhD, Chaplain to The Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem, to updates from the Gen. Raymond G. Davis Templar Foundation, opportunities to help support a scholarship to a Christian student, and registering to attend the 2023 Pilgrimage. Please take full advantage of our exceptional website (https://smotj2023fl orida.com), which provides comprehensive details on all the GC&I events, dining venues, theme parks, and trans-portation. Whether you’re into theme parks, nature, shopping, or cultural experiences, you will fi nd something enjoyable in our vibrant city. If you need any questions answered, look for a host Templar wearing a maroon Grand C&I shirt.I would personally like to thank my fellow host Priory Grand C&I Committee members who worked tirelessly to bring you this Grand Convent: Tom Beaton, Dennis & ClaudiaChamberland, Howard & Maribel Giraldo, and Robert & Margo Miller.Again, on behalf of the Priory of The Temple Church and the incoming Com-mandery of The Holy Trinity, WELCOME to Orlando!
