Dear League Team,I hope you and yours enjoyed a restful, joyous Thanksgiving.The League’s Annual All Staff event, our Wild West Picnic, was a blast! Thank you Madi Jennings, Jocylen Bungcasan, Regina Ramirez, Pat Collins, Jules Berg, Stephanie Newman, and Yvonne Bradshaw, for your superb planning and execution of that super fun event! All staffenjoyed the games, the food, the race, the line dancing, crafting, relaxingand laughing together! Next up: our Staff Holiday Luncheons! Our November Family Day of Service event, Sweet Dreams and CozyNights, was a huge success! Participants made 181 blankets, and 364stuffed animals were donated – with more still arriving! We alsoreceived generous financial donations; all of which support the FosterChildren’s Resource Center, Operation School Bell program, and ourPreschool Learning Center. We also held our first charity art auction, The Art of Giving, onDecember 2. Artists, art lovers, members, staff, and supporters gatheredfor a festive evening to raise funds for League programs. The auctionfeatured Angeleno artists, many of whom donated their art in supportof our programs. Many pieces were sold, but some are still available forsale, so check out the gems offered on the auction website! Click her toview the art! All artwork is now offered at a “buy it now” price. The winter break for most schools is fast upon us, so there is a flurry ofactivity to support youth through Operation School Bell, FosterChildren’s Resource Center, the College Scholarship Program, and thePreschool Learning Center. The League is striving to help underservedand extremely low-income children with everything they need in timefor the holidays!I wish each of you a happy, peaceful holiday. This is an ideal promotional opportunity for a current Referral Specialist.The position is based at the League Chapter House and works closely with the CRVCDistrict Manager, Referral Specialists, and Partner Agencies.The second open position is full-time Teacher at the Preschool Learning Center. ThePreschool’s goal is to serve as many deserving children as possible, but before increasingenrollment we must first hire an additional teacher.
