The Winter of 2022-2023 was intense - as were the impacts on Happy Valley. We lost a number of large trees and sustained damage to the pool, the South Residence, the North Residence, our neighbor's property, and the trails. We have mitigated some (but not all) of the damage and hope for a gentler rainy season this year.

Our 4th Camp Summit welcomed leaders in camping ministry for another weekend of professional development

Greetings I have to start off by saying HALLELUJAH What a thrill it is to see so many returning to Happy Valley and seeing their joy to be on these sacred grounds after being closed during the pandemic It is good to see our Purpose Mission and Vision in action again As we look at our way forward it is key that we understand that while we have been physically separated during the pandemic now is the time to once again embrace each other in community Places like Happy Valley help to strengthen and enrich us as a community Happy Valley is a source of comfort familiarity growth and fulfillment for so many when they step on these sacred grounds Happy Valley is eagerly awaiting to embrace everyone as you return to these grounds It is YOU that help us fulfill our Purpose Mission and Vision It is your time and commitment to coming to events at Happy Valley that help to strengthen the whole community Thank you for your continued support Regards Jerry DeVries President Happy Valley Board of Directors

From Happy Valley Executive Director, Tim Dodds:

This last year we have seen the return of many of our traditional community partners to Happy Valley, as well as welcoming a number of new groups, and we are grateful. It is exciting to be a part of the good work they are doing that is in alignment with Happy Valley’s Purpose: “Uplift the worth of persons so all may Experience Dynamic Transformation.” We are blessed to welcome these groups as we continue to live out this purpose and embrace the Enduring Principles, and look forward to continuing to expand our community.

From the Happy Valley Board President, Jerry DeVries:

Thank you for your ongoing support and uplifting Happy Valley as a place of peace and renewal. Recovering from the COVID years and the storm damage from this past winter is an ongoing challenge.  Thanks to your ongoing support - including attendance at Mission Center events - and with the additional patronage from the our guest groups that call Happy Valley home, we continue to provide an environment for all to Experience. Dynamic. Transformation.

Work to deconstruct and demolish the house on the North 40 has begun. We are looking forward to starting fresh in that space with an expansion of our areas for gathering!

The need to sustain Happy Valley continues into our future together so that we may fulfill our shared vision to preserve this sacred gathering place. Ongoing fundraising efforts continue to support operations, short and long term maintenance work, and enhancements to program space. In the spirit of hope and stewardship, we wish to honor our 70+ year legacy of hospitality, sacred community, and innovation in camping.
