This 92ndRegional Convention has exceeded all expectations by securing the registration ofwell over 2,000 brothers who are coming from every region within the fraternity. Yourexcitement, anticipation, commitment, and resilience as a strong brotherhood has made itpossible for all of us to say, this is the largest regional convention ever held within the fraternity. In addition to the record-breaking number of brothers attending this convention, theprogramming will be just at iconic. We are preparing to host over 1,000 high school studentsfrom Orange and surrounding counties as 30 HBCU institutions offer on-site admissions andscholarships during our highly anticipated HBCU Fair. We are also offering another strongcomplement of leadership, career, professional, and personal development workshops throughour Alpha Training & Development Academy. Additionally, we plan to again donate more than70 pints of critically needed blood to the Orlando community. And, the highly anticipated SouthAfrica Study Abroad Program will debut as three college brothers will be awarded anopportunity to spend five weeks in Cape Town, South Africa, learning the history, politicalstructure, economy, and arts of the continent, while earning six credit hours toward theirundergraduate degrees.I am also excited about the return of the in-person Miss Old Gold & Black Scholarship Pageant, the College Brothers Step Show, the many intellectual competitions, and the opportunity torekindle friendships with brothers we may not have seen in recent years, due to the pandemic. All of this excitement will fall under the guise of Alpha Men taking care of Alpha Business, hence, our theme: “Developing, Promoting, Serving and Advocating with Laser-Focused Intentionality.”While enjoying this historic convention, it is my personal prayer that you and your family get anopportunity to relax and enjoy the beautiful Central Florida landscape, weather, and attractions.I am sure you will have a magical time! Southern Regional Vice President Donavan I. McLean Southern Regional Assistant Vice President March 01, 2023 March 1, 2023 Greetings to My Brothers of the Southern Region! With great honor, I welcome you to the great city of Orlando, Florida, for the 92nd Southern Regional Convention. As we gather under the banner of “Developing, Promoting, Serving, and Advocating with Laser-Focused Intentionality,” let us always be reminded of the Objectives of this Fraternity: To stimulate the ambitions of its members, to prepare them for the greatest usefulness in the causes of humanity, freedom and dignity of the individual, to encourage the highest and noblest forms of manhood, and to aid down-trodden humanity. My brothers, as Men of Distinction, we must be prepared to fulfill our objectives, particularly as we seek to aid down-trodden humanity with laser-focused intentionality. The communities we occupy deserve to be served by individuals who are capable and knowledgeable of their unique needs. Allow me to thank you, for your continued support throughout my tenure as Assistant Regional Vice President. I look forward to gripping each of you in the hallways, working alongside you at one of our service-related functions, and handling the business of Alpha Phi Alpha in our sessions. I am excited to make new memories with the brothers of Alpha South and be amongst the most extraordinary brotherhood known. Having the opportunity to convene in the great District of Florida for our 92nd Southern Regional Convention is something I have been looking forward to, knowing this convention will assemble a distinct group of leaders throughout our Region to fellowship with. I wish you a successful convention and commend the great work you all do for the Southern Region! My Brothers of the Southern Region, Welcome to the 92nd Annual Southern Regional Convention, “Developing, Promoting, Serving, and Advocating with Laser-Focused Intentionality” in Orlando, Fla. on March 9 –12, 2023. As your General President, I would like to take this point of privilege to acknowledge the efforts of the Southern Region to provide leadership, service, and advocacy to our communities. You have continued to uphold the mission of this great Fraternity and exemplify our brand and moniker as ‘Men of Distinction,’ which supports my vision of Elevating The Alpha Spirit. That vision encompasses strengthening our Brotherhood, improving operational excellence, and answering the call of servant leadership. Since my inauguration, that has been my administration’s priority, and it is apparent that it has resonated with your region. As ‘Men of Distinction,’ I challenge you to continue to uphold and transcend our standard and brand. They are both powerful and timeless. And by doing so, we continue to offer our communities not only leadership and advocacy, but hope. To be successful, however, we must engage the entire Brotherhood – those who are already focused on the work of Alpha within our chapters as well as those who are not but are still representing the principles of Alpha in their daily and professional lives. The theme of your regional convention, “Developing, Promoting, Serving, and Advocating with Laser-Focused Intentionality,” acknowledges and celebrates your commitment and your effort. Have an excellent regional convention. Fraternally, Willis L. Brothers of the Southern Region, I hope this letter finds you mentally and physically well. It is my pleasure to offer you greetings at the 92nd Annual Southern Regional Convention, “Developing, Promoting, Serving, and Advocating with Laser-Focused Intentionality” in Orlando, Fla. on March 9 - 12, 2023. As your Executive Director, it is truly my honor and privilege to serve you, our communities, and our Brotherhood. Since my appointment, the General Office staff and I have continued to diligently work to manifest and advance General President Dr. Willis L. Lonzer’s Elevating The Alpha Spirit vision. Elevating The Alpha Spirit vision stresses strengthening our Brotherhood, improving operational excellence, and answering the call of servant leadership. While we have accomplished much, we all must focus on reclaiming and amplifying Alpha’s brand and imagery as ‘Men of Distinction.’ Our brand is exclusive and distinctive. We were never meant to be all things to all people. But who we are meant to be is representative of men, who are unapologetically successful students and professionals that transcend in any social, academic, or professional setting. From our presence on social media to how we represent Alpha in public settings, we must illustrate and exude that ‘Men of Distinction’ moniker. The Fraternity also continues to recognize our most important asset, and that is our membership, as we strengthen our efforts to reactivate and retain our Alpha Brothers, who have become estranged from the House or currently reside within the fold. My Brothers of the Southern Region, your committed efforts have also not gone unnoticed. Please continue to serve your community and your Fraternity, as we continue to serve you. I hope this Southern Regional Convention offers a tremendous opportunity for fellowship, productivity, and fraternal empowerment, as well as ensures fond memories for years to come. I wish you all an enjoyable and engaging Southern Regional Convention. Fraternally, Sean L. McCaskill Executive Director

March 9, 2023 Brothers of the Southern Region of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. 92nd Regional Convention Rosen Shingle Creek Resort 9939 Universal Blvd Orlando, FL 32819 Greetings, It is my honor, as the School Board Member for the illustrious District 5 community, to welcome all those joining over 2,000 Brothers of the Southern Region of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. as they convene for their 92nd Regional Convention. As a member of the Divine Nine myself, I have a special connection to this event. The core principles surrounding the historically Black Greek Letter organizations revolve around professional development and the betterment of the community. The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha are the epitome of this standard, as they are known for promoting brotherhood, developing leaders and striving for academic excellence while providing service and advocacy to the community. I have nothing but admiration for all that you do. I am most excited about the HBCU and Graduate/Career Fairs that will take place during this convention, as this will serve as a fantastic opportunity to empower our youth and allow them to explore potential futures. I often use the phrase “champion of education” and when I think about what that truly means, in essence, it’s the willingness to guide and create resources for our youth to help them succeed. The opportunities presented at this convention will do just that and I thank you for being vital members of a bigger team effort to cultivate our leaders of tomorrow. Again, welcome everyone to this wonderful event. Vicki-Elaine Felder Orange County School Board Member, District 5
