This year, we were able to reactivate twelve chapters (8undergraduate, 4 alumnae) and celebrated our tenthousandth member! We introduced a range of newprograms designed to enhance your skills, foster leadership,and support your individual goals. Workshops on financialliteracy, conflict management, and personal wellness havebeen incredibly well-received, and it is heartening to witnessso many of you embracing these opportunities withenthusiasm and dedication.Letter from theNational PresidentDear Sisters and Members of Lambda Theta Alpha,I hope this letter finds you all in good spirits and high energyas we celebrate another successful year together. Leadership & StructureLambda Theta Alpha is governed by an elected Board of Directors, which iscomposed of 10 officers who are responsible for managing the affairs of the sororitybetween annual conventions. The Board oversees all sorority operations and isstructured to ensure that all viewpoints are considered in decision-making. Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc.Lambda Theta Alpha celebrated 13 years in partnership with St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital at the St. Jude Walk/Run event.This signature event brings communities together nationwideduring Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to raise funds for thehospital. With more than 80 registered teams nationwide, LambdaTheta Alpha met and exceeded its annual goal, raising $30,062.In addition, LTA participated in a multi-market team blitz weekand held various rallies among members to encourageparticipation and share updates from St. Jude. Philanthropy & ServiceSt. Jude Children’s Research HospitalLambda Theta Alpha Foundation 2023-2024 Annual ReportThe Lambda Theta Alpha Foundation (LTA Foundation) wascreated as a separate entity from the sorority as a 501(c)3 nonprofitorganization to respond to the growing need for additionalfinancial support in our communities. In 2023-2024, members ofLambda Theta Alpha raised $31,080 while supporting thefollowing campaigns:Annual Scholarship CampaignScholarships are provided for students pursuing education atthe undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels and whodemonstrate commitment to advancing their community.1.975 Annual Run: Bridge to Brighter Futures The sixth annual marquee event supports the continuedelevating of the Foundation’s work and engagement of localcommunities from across the country in a single event. 06

Lambda Theta Alpha joined over 200 organizations across thenation for the 8th annual I Stand With Immigrants Day ofAction on October 25, 2023. With 41 chapters and areasactively engaged in events across campuses andcommunities nationwide, the membership comprised one ofthe largest contingents on this Day of Action. Read the fullpress release here.LTA VoiceLambda Hill DaysOn April 2024, Lambda Theta Alpha hosted its eighth annualLambda Hill Days. Cohort members traveled from across theU.S. to meet in Washington D.C. to meet in person with electedofficials. The National Political Education Initiative Committeeprovided resources for the 22 cohort members to contact theirrepresentatives and schedule meetings to speak aboutWomen’s Reproductive Health, Student Debt Relief, ArtificialIntelligence, and more! National InitiativesSexual Assault Awareness MonthLambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc., in collaboration with prominent sororities,including Corazones Unidos Siempre/Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority,Incorporated, Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc.,Kappa Delta Chi, Sigma Lambda Gamma, and Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha,Incorporada, has successfully concluded a month-long series of events andinitiatives during Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) 2024. Themed "VocesUnidas Cultivating Community" (United Voices Cultivating Community), thecampaign has set a benchmark in raising awareness and fostering communityresilience against sexual assault, particularly within Latinx communities.Throughout April, the partnering organizations engaged communities across thenation in a comprehensive slate of programming designed to educate, empower,and connect individuals. The initiative aimed to break the silence around sexualviolence in Latinx communities, where such discussions are often consideredtaboo. Read the full press release here.Financial Literacy MonthThe National Finance Committee hosts an annual series of virtual workshops toeducation members during April’s National Financial Literacy Month observation.In 2024, topics included Investing 101 and Post Graduate Finances. The programwas presented by members who are finance professionals and provided tools andresources throughout the month to support the ongoing education of financialliteracy. Training & DevelopmentNational hazing prevention training was provided by the Prevent Zone platform, a leaderin prevention training. One representative from each constituency was required tocomplete the Hazing Prevention 101: Fraternity & Sorority Edition training. Members whocompleted the training shared the information learned with workshops at the local level.09Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. 2023-2024 Annual ReportLambda Ladies as Empowered Advocates for Diversity (LLEAD) Certification Programwas developed to further enhance our members’ leadership skills related to culturalsensitivity, diversity, and inclusion. Hosted by the National Leadership Development andStandards Committee, the 11 graduates attended weekly sessions over five-months ontopics such as intersectionality, social change, brave spaces, and inherent bias. National Hazing Prevention TrainingLambda Ladies as Empowered Advocates for DiversityKicking off the sorority year, Regional Officers attend an in-person Leadership Summit. In2023, leaders convened in Baltimore, MD, ahead of the National Convention for cross-training and planning time together.Leadership SummitHosted at the regional level, these leadership conferencessupport the training and development of our Area Officers onsorority operations, best practices, and planning for theupcoming year.Regional Leadership ConferencesRoundtables are held throughout the year and focus on sororityleadership training topics, including recruitment, leadershipwellness, governance, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. National PartnershipsCDC ‘Let’s Stop HIV’ Together CampaignWe continued our collaboration with the CDC’s Let’s Stop HIV Together campaignfor 2023-24. This campaign is part of the national Ending the HIV EpidemicInitiative. Through our expansive network, we aim to support this campaign bysharing resources, initiating dialogue, and raising awareness for minorities andpeople of color living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. Throughout the next year,Lambda Theta Alpha will continue to engage in various activities to educate ourmembers about this health disparity affecting racial and ethnic minorities.Latinas in CyberFounded in October 2022, Latinas in Cyber (LAIC) is a non-profit organizationdedicated to empowering Latinas to pursue and excel in cybersecurity careers.This new partnership with Lambda Theta Alpha supports its mission to bridge thegender and diversity gap in the cybersecurity industry through education andaccess to opportunities. The partnership centered around the promotion of LAIC’sSecured Academy, providing affordable industry certification programs, aninternship pipeline, and annual mentorship. This year’s theme, “Anchored in Legacy, United in Sisterhood,” emphasizes thesignificance of upholding tradition and cultivating deep connections within ourcommunity. As part of our commitment to community service, we collaboratedto support La Casa De Las Madres by crafting over 2,000 bracelets. This effortrepresents 43% of their targeted goal of 3,000 bracelets for the FY 24-25 TeenDating Violence Awareness Campaign.The National Convention included a powerful blend of reflection, inspiration,and practical learning, leaving attendees with a renewed sense of purpose and awealth of knowledge to bring back to their chapters and communities. Read thefull press release here.Nearly 400 members of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority,Inc. convened at the San Francisco Airport MarriottWaterfront on June 21 - June 23, 2024, for the annualNational Convention.
