MESSAGE FROM Dan Krankeola Director 6 In 2022 we began to see the recovery of meeting and event bookings at the center I would like to take a moment to thank the leadership team and staff at the St Charles Convention Center for their dedication during the past year Their clear focus hard work and overall commitment to their jobs and the organization was evident as they brought this year to a successful close The St Charles Convention Center continues to be a vital entity within and for the City of St Charles welcoming visitors from all over the world to experience exceptional service and also our beloved city Successful tourism to a city requires a good infrastructure including attractability accessibility accommodations and amenities The St Charles Convention Center continues to provide solutions to meeting planners and attendees in all of the above ways In addition the overall economic impact of the Center continues to make both the City of St Charles and St Charles County an ideal destination for meetings and special events as well as a leisure travel destination The Greater St Charles Convention Visitors Bureau appreciates its partnership with OVG360 and looks forward to its continued growth with return to profitability in 2022 Undoubtedly we ll face new challenges moving forward but I am optimistic for the Center s future With our combined vision and teamwork promoting St Charles as an optimal choice for meetings and group travel these challenges will be overcome and the Center will remain one of the most successful convention centers in the country for years to come Sincerely Dan Krankeola Director Greater Saint Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau

MESSAGE FROM Mark Tenholder GM It is a great honor and privilege to be able to lead such a hardworking and resilient team in the convention center industry 2022 proved to be the start of recovery with business returning to levels the SCCC has not recorded in the past few years Strategies that kept business coming into the building the past two years have led to executing license agreements for future business to perpetuate our strong booking pace After a couple of years ruled by change and uncertainty the St Charles Convention Center team was well prepared to navigate the changing environment Capital investments in the Center that happened in both the front and the back of house will bring improved efficiencies along with cost savings The positive changes at the end of 2021 in our Food and Beverage department set up our team for success in 2022 Our new Food and Beverage Director led the charge with re imagined plating and presentation new menu items and proper costing to ensure a resounding success We also welcomed several new managers to the team in the Event Services Operations and Food and Beverage departments The addition of these new team members brought a wealth of knowledge and creativity to the team Our team looks forward to the growth and the possibilities that positive momentum brings being well positioned to have a profitable 2023 Gratefully Mark Tenholder General Manager St Charles Convention Center 7

Accomplishments SUMMARY OF The first six months of 2022 saw gross revenues trailing behind budget as some events were still hesitant to book In addition events that were booked were experiencing lower attendance numbers However as the year progressed and confidence to hold and attend events increased the St Charles Convention Center saw business levels grow towards pre Covid 19 levels Gross revenues for 2022 finished at 7 854M 497K ahead of budget including a new record for the month of October with 1 080M in gross revenue Gross Operating Income exceeded budget by 469K a 1 648M lift from 2021 Staffing levels remained at in 2021 but progress was gained in 2022 as the Center hired more full time Food and Beverage associates in positions that were unfulfilled during the previous years This trend will carry on into 2023 as the Center looks to Mark Silverware Polisher Salad Trees Ken TENHOLDER ALEXANDER KASPER Promoted to Promoted to Promoted to General Manager Executive Chef Banquet Manager Jamell Michelle OHLEY Lisa HARRIS Promoted to Promoted to Promoted to Cook Operations Manager Housekeeping Lead JOHNSON 10 Jake continue reducing temporary labors costs The Box Office saw improvements with the addition of ShowPass This new web based ticketing system allows for mobile ticketing of events This is part of the Center s overall plan to reduce expenses while improving the overall customer experience Capital improvements made at the Center in 2022 include Upper Level carpeting New ride on carpet extractor New Website completion in 2023 Black drape and skirting Sidewalk Improvements New kitchen equipment Tilt Skillets Steamer Stove

15TH ANNUAL Helping Hands for The Holidays Helping Hands for the Holidays was created in 2008 to provide assistance to the St Charles Community The 15th Annual Helping Hands for the Holidays saw a 55 increase in attendance from 2021 welcoming 870 guests and getting back up to preCOVID numbers The St Charles Convention Center partnered with CAPS of St Charles County Dollar General Sam s Club and 15 exhibitors to put on this year s event The Helping Hands Committee used the 15th Annual Helping Hands to go back to why the St Charles Convention Center started Helping Hands The committe wanted to focus on providing community members in need with a warm coat and other necesseties during the holiday season With that the committee got donation boxes set up at spots throuhout St Charles including City Hall the Police Station and Fire Station 4 We also had 15 exhibitors reach out to be part of the event to offer information and services on things like Medicare mental health resources affordable home ownership and more CAPS students and other volunteers helped to count and sort donations as well as work the event by running the coat and personal care item giveaways serving food taking pictures with Santa helping check in and more The generosity of the St Charles community allowed the St Charles Convention Center to put on a funfilled event for their fellow community members Details of the event included Welcoming over 800 guests Providing guests with a warm meal Distributing 800 winter coats and accessories Distributing over 3 000 personal care items Hosting 15 local organizations that provided information and resources Providing photo opportunities with Santa and Mrs Claus Providing hair cuts and trims Having a movie DJ and other entertainment for kids and families Donating over 100 coats to the Salvation Army Partners Exhibitors Dollar General St Charles County CAPS Sam s Club Boost Radio New Frontier Bank Compass Health Network Community Children s Resource Board St Louis Crisis Nursery The Bail Project Optimist Club of St Charles City of St Charles HRC Gateway EITC Community Coalition Habitat for Humanity St Charles Community Council NECAC Center for Head Injury Services Missouri MENTOR Preferred Family Healthcare The Care Service of Sts Joachim and Ann 13

EVENTS at the St Charles Convention Center Consumer Shows Multiple consumer shows draw large attendance to the City and Convention Center early to start the year off in full swing The Great Train Show The St Louis Golf Show Lake of the Ozarks Boat Show Working Womens Show and The Home Builders Association Home Show have been hosting events at the Center for the past several years and will continue to do so in the future The central location complimentary parking and ease of move in and move out with dock access are examples of why the St Charles Convention Center is a great venue for their events Save A Lot Save A Lot grocery stores held a multiple day convention for their employees and franchise owners The convention featured various franchise owners as vendors at their food show with more than 130 booths The event encompassed educational sessions and multiple meal functions featuring a pub style reception The convention is scheduled to return in 2023 St Louis Amateur Hockey Hall of Fame Banquet St Louis Amateur Hockey Hall of Fame held their annual banquet at the Convention Center this past summer They honor and celebrate those who support promote and expand amateur hockey throughout the St Louis region in accordance with their shared values of leadership sportsmanship fairness and integrity In order to be selected as an Honoree each individual or group must receive an affirmative vote of at least three fourths of the voting membership of the Board 16

Weddings The St Charles Convention Center held various weddings of various cultures in 2022 The Indian weddings feature a tall mundup and the high ceilings in the Grand Ballroom are ideal to create the vision for their ceremony Our creative culinary team has customized outside catering packages that are tailored to their cultures The ethnic weddings have a Garba Sangeet Mendhei night Baraat and Vindhi Ceremonies these are all celebrated over the course of the weekend and are booked within a 6 month timeframe Palestinian and Arab weddings are held on Sundays making them great filler pieces of business Missouri Rural Water Association The Missouri Rural Water Association holds their annual convention featuring over 1 000 attendees The convention was held in the entire facility and brought in over 1 000 hotel room nights Missouri Rural Water Association s mission is to be the leading source of professional service support and representation for Missouri water and wastewater facilities The convention is held for members to receive continued education credits and networking The convention is returning in early 2023 Grand Lodge of the State of Missouri The Masonic Home of Missouri s Programs connect and support members of the Masonic family and their communities throughout the state This is a nonprofit charitable organization providing assistance to eligible members of the fraternity and children in need The convention was held over multiple days with record breaking revenues The event is scheduled to return next fall 17

We had a wonderful week at the St Charles Convention Center for a dance competition The building was exceptionally clean the staff was friendly and helpful and our party was safely able to eat all week despite having over a dozen food allergies Special thank you to the chefs and kitchen staff at the convention center for preparing safe food and allowing us to enjoy meals alongside our friends Amy Riley Went to Vintage Market Days here a few months ago and absolutely loved it Last weekend I had prom here as well and it was the perfect venue Taylor Steinagel GOOGLE REVIEWS An awesome place to host an event Management is easy to work with to reserve space and the whole place is extra clean There are a lot of rooms that can be configured to suit your event Staff is very friendly Only event space in St Louis area that has free parking for all attendees Marc Crawford I ve been here several times to attend Geekway to the West It is always clean and in order and very well laid out for a convention with breakouts Keith Textor Went to a business show and it was well maintained and clean and had plenty of hand sanitizers Plenty of parking I would recommend this large hall to companies having business shows Jeffrey Lerner Staff are very nice It s a great place to be a vendor Everyone is nice and accommodating I love coming here every year John Schevola 23

OUR PARTNERS HOSPITALITY PARTNERS The St Charles MO hospitality industry consists of sixteen limited service hotels and three full service hotels with a combined inventory of more than 2 400 rooms Of the nineteen area hotels eight are within one mile of the Convention Center The staff at the Convention Center continues to foster relationships with these hospitality partners to secure business for the facility and surronding industry partners and provide additional marketing support for the facility and events GREATER ST CHARLES CONVENTION VISITOR BUREAU EMBASSY SUITES ST LOUIS ST CHARLES HOTEL OVG360 and the Greater St Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau CVB work in tandem to solicit the best business for the facility Our combined goals are to maximize revenue for the Center attract out of town guests generate room nights for local hotels and customers for local businesses and to maximize the overall economic impact to the City of St Charles and St Charles County The attached Embassy Suites Hotel is an all suite 296 room facility managed by Atrium Hospitality and is connected to the Convention Center on both upper and lower levels This attached property has proven valuable in attracting groups needing large fiexible meeting space with an adjacent full service hotel OVG360 and Embassy Suites staff work together to secure business that utilizes space at both properties The CVB and the Convention Center representatives commonly attend trade shows and events together are involved in FAM trips and attend site tours of the facility for long term business prospecting and booking 24

SPONSORS ADVERTISERS OTHER PARTNERS In an effort to better serve our clients we have forged relationships with a variety of business partners Many of these sponsors provide direct product offerings signage exposure and additional marketing support for the facility and events PARTNERS WITH FLAVOR As we head into 2023 our Food Beverage department continues to foster new business relationships with local venders and providers This includes keeping agreements with organizations that have successfully supported our offerings for shows and events in the Convention Center as well as keeping much of our Food and Beverage purchasing power within the greater St Louis area with specialty products and ethnic fiavors produced locally We are proud to have these organizations partnering with us as we look for new ways to give big fiavor and exciting trends to all our guests This in turn has created an increased value to our Food and Beverage department allowing us to grow our average checks year over year 25

2023 And Beyond 2023 begins with 4 8M of definite revenue on the books an increase of 1M from 2022 In addition room nights generated by the center for 2023 sit at 17 461 definite with an additional 24 000 in firm and tentative For 2023 we developed a budget with 8 511M in gross revenue an 8 increase over 2022 actual gross revenue Revenue targets were developed with the following event mix Conventions 2 756M 32 a 595K increase based on 22 conventions booked including 3 new conventions Banquets 1 661M 20 a 128K decrease due to the additional conventions contracted Consumer Shows 1 257M 15 a 46K decrease due to one event not returning in 2023 Meetings 1 497M 18 a 125K increase as this segment experiences the majority of the short term bookings Special Events 470K 5 a 64K decrease due to increased conventions Tradeshows 828K 10 a 343K increase with 3 new events in this segment bringing the total to 18 With an overall average booking window at just under 200 days prior to arrival focus will be on soliciting for events in the Meetings and Banquets segments to fill in open dates in 2023 26 The Center continues to experience increased bookings in the Convention and Tradeshow segments along with increased room nights and attendance These multi day conventions and tradeshows bring economic impact revenue into the community With catering menus getting a complete update of offerings and pricing in 2022 it allows the Sales team to achieve revenue goals while allowing the Food and Beverage team to achieve their allocated expense targets for 2023 Throughout the years the Center has employed a strong leadership team through OVG360 that applies best practices and a drive to be successful for all clients and the St Charles community Staffing levels will increase slightly for 2023 to include 45 full time positions Increases are mainly in the Food and Beverage department as we look for ways to reduce contract labor expenses The nearby RiverPointe project continues to take shape in St Charles with several components already under construction such as Chicken N Pickle This development compliments the St Charles Historic Main Street blossoming wine country and friendly people as a complete package The Center s proximity to the airport fewer than 11 minutes 2 400 hotel rooms within one mile and the perception of the Midwest as a safe place to visit continues to make St Charles a very competitive and affordable destination
