Engineering Speech #40 Agamograph Greetings Little Engineers. My name is ________________. Today I am going to tell you how to make an agamograph. First, you print out each template. Second, you draw or glue a picture on the first two templates. Third, you cut along the dotted lines on the first two templates. Fourth, you glue the strips on the matching number and letter spaces on the last template. Fifth, you fold the last template along the lines like an accordion. Sixth, you get a piece of cardstock. Seventh, you glue the edges of the template to the cardstock from one side to the other. Finally, you stand up your agamograph and walk by it to see it change!

Engineering Speech 20 3D Printer Assembly and Use Greetings Little Engineers My name is ________________ Today I am going to tell you how to assemble a 3D printer First you mount the gantry and screw it into the printer Second you connect the connecters in the back Third you hit the silver dial and turn to select prepare Fourth you push the dial again and select Auto Home Fifth you then select Disable Steppers Sixth you move the hotend and build plate close to the first corner Seventh you use a piece of paper to level at each corner of the build plate Eighth you use the leveling screws to move the plate up and down Ninth you keep doing this until each corner is just barely grabbing the paper Tenth you test the middle of the build plate with the paper Eleventh the middle of the build plate should be just barely grabbing the paper Twelfth you keep doing this until you get an even level Thirteenth you go to Move Axis and select Move Z then move it 50mm up Fourteenth you put the filament on the filament holder Fifteenth you load some filament into the bowden tube Sixteenth you push the filament in until it stops Seventeenth you go to in out filament and select In Filament Eighteenth you select Stop In Out Filament when you see it coming out Nineteenth you remove the extra filament at the bottom after a few seconds Twentieth you select Print From SD and select the file you want to print Finally your printer will begin to print your 3D object

Engineering Speech 41 Marble Ship Game Part 1 Greetings Little Engineers My name is ________________ Today I am going to tell you how to make a marble ship game First you get two pieces of cardboard and cut it to 25x40cm Second you cut 5 long wavy holes horizontally down one piece of cardboard Third you color or draw a picture of an ocean with an island at the top Fourth you glue it to the cardboard with the holes and cut out the holes from the paper Fifth you make a round hole at the top on the island Sixth you hot glue pieces of cardboard on the back to make a ramp for the marble Seventh you hot glue the other piece of cardboard to the back on the ramp Eighth you cut two pieces of cardboard in a foot shape for the sides of the game Ninth you cut the bottom of the cardboard 25cm wide and the top 6 5cm wide Tenth you cut the cardboard with one side 45cm long Eleventh you cut the other side 40cm and 10cm with a slant going down and out Twelfth you hot glue the main part of the game at the front and at the top Finally part 1 of your marble ship game is finished See you next class

Engineering Speech 41B Marble Ship Game Part 2 Greetings Little Engineers My name is ________________ Today I am going to tell you how to make marble ship game First you get some cardboard and cut it to 8 5x25cm and two more to 2 5x8 5cm Second you hot glue the two small pieces 2cm from the ends of the bigger piece Third you hot glue the whole piece under where the marble comes out at an angle Fourth you make another set at 3x25cm and 2 5x3cm and cut off top corners Fifth you cut out a piece of cardboard 8 5x25cm with holes for the marble at the bottom Sixth you cut a base for the game at 26x20cm and hot glue the game towards the front Seventh you make a guard to stop the marble on the front of the base and put in a divider Eighth you draw your ship then use it as a stencil on the cardboard to cut out three Ninth you hot glue the ships together and thread string at each end and hot glue that Tenth you hot glue a strip of paper to the top of the ship to cover the rough Eleventh you hot glue your drawn ship to the front Finally you are ready to move to part 3

Engineering Speech 36 Handcraft Helicopter Greetings Little Engineers My name is ________________ Today I am going to tell you how to make a handcraft helicopter First you get cardstock paper and choose or draw a pattern for your helicopter Second you get a set of rotor blades a popsicle stick paperclip and duct tape Third you put the rotor blades on top of the popsicle stick Fourth you put the paperclip around the other end of the popsicle stick Fifth you use duct tape to tape the paperclip tightly to the popsicle stick Sixth you leave the small end of the paperclip outside of the tape Seventh you attach your cardstock pattern to the upper middle of the helicopter Eighth you get a rubber band and connect the rotor blades to the paperclip Ninth you twist the rotor blades to the correct direction using the notches under the blades Tenth you keep twisting the rotor blades as much as you can Finally you release the helicopter from top to bottom with a pause saying tick tock
