St. Brendan High School | www.stbrendanhigh.org/support4LETTER FROM THEPRINCIPALDear St. Brendan High School Family,St. Brendan High School is a special place that provides a Catholic educational experience to young men and women, inspires a passion for learning by fostering intellectual, physical, social and spiritual growth through academic excellence and mutual respect. This is our mission and as the SABRE Pride, “we are Led by Christ, who changes our hearts and the world.” Our motto calls us to action, inspired by the love of Christ, to make the world a better place. On behalf of the administration, faculty and staff of St. Brendan High School I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support of our school. St. Brendan High School has grown into the largest co-educational Catholic high school in Miami. We have done so by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, one that promotes discipline and commitment to the development of the student, as well as the development of the faculty, staff, campus and community. This ongoing commitment to development has continued with the installation of energy ef cient impact windows, exterior doors, remodeling of faculty bathrooms and addition of classrooms. Campus improvements are continuous with a plan to replace the windows in the cafeteria, and upgrade the old laboratories in the C-Building. If you have not done so already, I invite you to visit us and tour the school at the Fall Showcase on Sunday, November 5th or at a Morning at the B, visit our website to register. Our students will talk with you about their faith formation, academic and athletic programs, new facilities, and activities that prepare them for college and career. As we plan for the future, we hope that you continue to support us in our mission of providing an exceptional Catholic education to the next generation of SABRES and we thank you for your continued support. Sincerely yours in Christ,Ivette G. Alvarez, PrincipalSt. Brendan High School Ivette G. Alvarez

St. Brendan High School | www.stbrendanhigh.org/support24 Ana de ArmasDear St. Brendan High School Family,I would like to begin by thanking the members of our Sabre family who invested their time, talent, and treasure into our school. I am happy to report that we surpassed our fundraising goals for the 2022-2023  scal year with a 161% increase in net development income. We also saw a 36% increase in the total number of donors. These signi cant increases illustrate the dedication of our current families, alumni, and community partners. At St. Brendan High School, we are committed to building community and cultivating a culture of giving. Some notable achievements from the 2022-2023  scal year include bringing back the Sabre Golf Classic, after a 9 year hiatus. The golf tournament sold out and raised close to $40,000 in net pro t. Our 2023 Sabre Cook-Off had the largest turnout since its inception with over 2,500 people attending and the most amount of money raised at this event, with close to $72,000 net pro t. Day of Giving, preceded by a powerful social media campaign – Believe. Belong. Become. – highlights three essential truths about our school: St. Brendan High School is rooted in its Catholic identity, and we Believe that we are led by Christ. Our students Belong to this incredible community and this is where they Become members of the extraordinary legacy of Sabres. We exceeded our $75,000 Day of Giving goal by almost $20k–our most prominent on record! This year we will have two community fundraising events: the Sabre Golf Classic on November 16, 2023 and the Sabre Cook-Off on March 2, 2024. We will also have two separate Days of Giving: Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2023 and Day of Giving–a week-long campaign beginning on March 17, 2024. In 2 years, our school will turn 50 years old! This is an exciting time in our school’s history. We invite all the members of our Sabre family to partner with us and invest in the ongoing advancement of our academic and athletic programs, the continued enhancement of our school facilities, and the future renovation of the gymnasium. Yours in Christ,Ana de Armas ‘98Director of Institutional Advancement LETTER FROM THEDIRECTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT

St. Brendan High School | www.stbrendanhigh.org/support46A warm hello to all Sabres, Once again, our amazing Alumni showed an outpouring of generosity with their time, talent, and treasure this past year. Sabre Alumni stepped up in so many ways. On Career Day, 73% of our speakers were alumni. Classes represented ranged from 1982 to 2019. The class of 1982 had the most donors at 60, and the most money donated as well to the Annual Fund and Capital Campaign. Overall, 490 out of 948 donors this past year were alumni. The growing tradition of giving back is inspiring and truly appreciated.Alumni are also giving back in other ways. We now have dozens of alumni on our Academy Advisory Council. The purpose of the Academy Advisory Council is to help establish a strong networking process whereby current students are connected to alumni who provide externship/internship opportunities that give our Academy members real life experience in a variety of workplace environments. This past summer we saw for the  rst time, Sabres mentoring Sabres. This is yet another example of the wonderful areas of progress coming to fruition at St. Brendan High School.Looking ahead, a sense of excitement surrounds our campus. The B, C and D buildings look remarkable with new, attractive impact windows and doors. Renovations to the gym and pool are up next in the school’s master plan as the campus continues a remarkable transformation. With the continued support of our alumni, the future of St. Brendan High School has no limits.Warmest Regards,Mr. Steven PiscitelliDirector of Alumni RelationsLETTER FROM THEDIRECTOR OF ALUMNI RELATIONSSteve Piscitelli

58St. Brendan High School | www.stbrendanhigh.org/supportAs a St. Brendan High School class of 1984 aluma, I am happy to give back to the institution that provided me with the education, growth, drive, and relationships that have shaped my life and that of my family. I feel a huge level of gratitude to the school. When I attended St. B, the administration was instrumental in helping my family during a time of great need, without which I would not have been able to graduate. I went on to attend the University of Miami and enjoyed a successful banking career. I am blessed with a healthy and wonderful family. Giving back to the school and community in this manner is our priority. It is our way of thanking the school by providing scholarship funds to students in need, so that they may have the opportunity to receive and achieve that same level of invaluable academic excellence, Catholic education, and spiritual development that I did.As a St. Brendan High School alumnus, my profound personal connection to the school’s mission is rooted in my own experiences as a student. I witnessed the unwavering dedication of the faculty and staff in nurturing both academic excellence and holistic development. The Catholic foundation instilled in me enduring moral and spiritual values, while a culture of mutual respect created an inclusive environment that celebrated diversity. This environment encouraged students to learn from one another’s perspectives. Additionally, the school’s commitment to intellectual growth fueled my academic achievements and ignited a lifelong passion for acquiring knowledge. I have made St. Brendan High School a philanthropic priority because of my deep connection to St. B. I attribute much of my personal growth and success to the education, values, and experiences I received there. My commitment extends to the next generation, as both my son and my daughter now attend the school. I have an unwavering loyalty and passion for St. Brendan High School. My goal is to ensure that St. Brendan continues to provide exceptional educational experiences for future generations.A A Eileen Frometa Rodriguez ‘84Miguel Perez ‘97I was part of one of the rst classes to graduate from St. Brendan High School. It was truly special to have the right balance of both intellectual and personal development, in an atmosphere of love and respect. I have very fond memories of my time there; from freshman year, 7th period World History with Mr. P, to diving in the freezing cold pool at swim practice, and the many dances I attended in the school cafeteria. I was very blessed to have the opportunity to receive such a great education in a nurturing environment. It is an honor to support my school and make sure others have the same opportunity I did. A Joe Murillo ‘80Q A ALUMNI SPOTLIGHTWhat is your personal connection to our school’s mission? Why have you made St. Brendan High School a philanthropic priority?

Page 59

592022-2023 Annual Report of GivingMy personal connection to the school’s mission is the incredible experience my two children had attending St Brendan High School. I witnessed the impact the school, the administration, and its faculty had on them and consequently, my family. This made me want to give back to the school. It gives me great joy to make St Brendan High School my philanthropic priority. It is a special place where young men and women nd their way and purpose in life. I’ve made Saint Brendan High School a philanthropic priority because of the many blessings I received during my high school years there. I went from being a lost teenager to becoming a young adult with a purpose in life. My time there made me realize that I was loved by God, loved by my peers, and by the faculty. This love changed my heart and my outlook in life. I found a better way than the way I was headed. It changed everything for me. I know that Saint Brendan High School did this for me and so many others. My hope is to ensure that our school can continue to do this for many years to come.I believe that nurturing young minds in an atmosphere that combines rigorous academics with moral and spiritual guidance not only shapes future leaders but also cultivates individuals who are empathetic, socially conscious, and dedicated to lifelong learning. Throughout my years at Saint Brendan, I not only received an excellent education but also had the opportunity to participate in team sports that taught me valuable lessons in teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. I formed meaningful relationships with both teachers and friends who provided unwavering support and guidance. These connections have continued to shape my character and personal growth long after graduation. Supporting the school allows me to invest in the foundation of knowledge and values that have been instrumental in my own journey and will continue to impact countless others.A A A Louis Moya, Parent of AlumniSergio Delgado ‘82Michele Alfonso Acosta ‘06St. Brendan High School has been a part of our family for 2 generations. The gift of an excellent education cannot be overestimated. When life becomes difcult and challenging, what you have learned will be with you and give you the tools to overcome obstacles. However, knowledge alone is not enough. A Catholic education imbues its students with the moral foundation that allows you to stay grounded in faith, charity and hope.A Dr. Gladys Giron ‘88#wearethesabrepride#sabrealumniQ
