Presidents Letter SINCE 1956 Hello and welcome to the 35th annual Houston Coating Society s Trade Show I would like to first thank all of our members volunteers and sponsors Without your countless hours of hard work and dedication this event could not be possible The Houston Coating s industry has a rich history of battling adversity The year 2020 hit us all hard COVID 19 nearly halted the world there were shortages in raw materials travel restrictions were everywhere the workforce needed to keep things moving along was limited and witnessing a drastic increase of pricing and demand across the board But here WE are Still pushing forward innovating and creating an industry of which we can all be proud This is a testament to you a community built on the backs of hard work dedication to your craft and the industry that unites us all Through the trade show and upcoming events we are able to award scholarships for the future members of the Houston Coating Society as well as those wanting to further their education We can never stop learning and building for a better stronger future so please be involved This year marks 35 Years that the Houston Coating Society has held an annual Trade Show This great feat can only ever be accomplished by a strong community and great leadership To our past presidents thank you for your leadership and your selflessness Thank you for setting and keeping the bar high I am humbled as well as honored to be your president I look forward to building on our past successes and creating new opportunities as we embark on the future of the Coating Society of Houston Sincerely Amber Anderson President Coating Society of the Houston Area Axalta Coating Systems

About the Coating Society of the Houston Area Who We Are The members of the Coating Society of the Houston Area include persons and companies in southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana involved in corrosion mitigation Membership consists of end users applicators inspectors manufacturers and suppliers What We Do The primary objectives of the Coating Society of the Houston Area are as follows Advance members knowledge of surface preparation selection of coatings and coating systems and application of protective coatings through discussions and planned programs Act as a conduit for interchanging ideas experiences and state of the art practices for preventing corrosion Promote understanding by users suppliers and contractors of their mutual problems How We Do It The Coating Society holds regular meetings on the first Thursday of each month of the year except June July and August These meetings are open to the public and we encourage anyone with interest in coatings or related products and services to attend Currently the meetings are held at Brady s Landing in Houston TX with a social gathering at 6 00 p m and the meeting with dinner begins at 6 45 p m The Coating Society of the Houston Area also sponsors a golf tournament trade show and a painters competition every spring At the end of the year the society has a Christmas party where proceeds from the year are distributed to local candidates in the form of scholarships
