By promoting understanding and appreciation for world cultures, artistic and creative expression, and a commitment to local global issues, social justice, and civil rights, the fth annual North Dakota Human Rights Film Festival and Summit is an exciting and important opportunity to engage the community and connect with lmmakers, humanitarians, social justice organizations, and festival attendees from throughout North Dakota and Minnesota. In 2021, the NDHRFFS will be a ve-day event taking place with morning workshops at the Plains Art Museum and afternoon discussions and lm screenings at the Fargo Theatre. Films, workshops and community conversations will also be streamed virtually for additional access opportunities. The goal of NDHRFFS is threefold: to educate and expand awareness of social justice issues, both nationally and globally; to generate conversation and dialogue around civil and human rights; and to inspire innovative and creative new approaches to social change. The NDHRFFS hosts screenings of narrative and documentary lms submitted for judging that provoke discussions about immigration, race, gender identity, politics, health care, law enforcement, along with many other human rights and social justice topics. In addition to seeing lms, festival attendees will also attend workshops conducted by masters in lm production, and attend community conversations featuring local experts speaking to topics relevant to residents in North Dakota and Minnesota.SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES November 2-6, 2021ABOUTAbout the Festival

With your help as a Corporate Sponsor, you will remove nancial barriers to community participation. In 2021, in-person and online engagement with the lm festival and summit will be 100% free to attend for all community members. We understand that the ongoing pandemic has exacerbated economic disparities in our community. Your nancial support helps to ensure these essential conversations continue to occur and are accessible to all in our community.SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES November 2-6, 2021Free for the CommunityIntegrated ProgrammingFor the rst time, day-long integrated programming will be integrated into the festival. The Human Family and the North Dakota Human Rights Coalition have been long-time partners with the festival. In past years, the multi-day festival was followed by a day-long summit about human rights. In 2021, that day-long summit is being integrated into the festival. Each day, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about critical human rights issues, the craft of lmmaking and hear from local experts and advocates on matters that impact the lives of North Dakotans and Minnesotans. Details about this year’s festival are included later in this guide.EVOLUTIONNew for 2021

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES November 2-6, 2021TestimonialsFEEDBACKAs queer woman, I recall with the deepest emotions how, when I was in my 20’s coming out, seeing stories from my community presented hopeful and positive alternative narratives to the hate-lled political speeches and caricatures in entertainment that lled society at the time. Having access to see ourselves can be life sustaining until we grow to be strong enough to accept who we are and claim our pride by demanding our unalienable rights, which we will no longer be denied because we are LGBTQ and/or POC. Your organization matters, and so thank you for letting us be part of this experience.Mae Gammino Filmmaker Being ThunderAn extremely important and well-managed festival. We had a great experience.Tyler Knutt Filmmaker Peacekeeper““Thought provoking. It grabbed my soul.So many powerful stories—almost too much emotionally to see in sequence. Thank you for bringing these stories and challenging our worldviews. Bob Trench Filmmaker Dodging BulletsI have really appreciated the communication with the organizing team, their precision and kindness throughout the whole process. This is how everyfestival should be run. Excellent communications, beautiful venue and a festival that cares about making the world a better place. We could not ask for more!I enjoyed the personal journeys into the issues. Their stories enlightened me. Too often I only learn snippets of the real story. Thank you for brining these lms to the public for viewing and mindset-shifting.
