4St. Brendan High School | www.stbrendanhigh.org/supportLetter from thePrincipalDear SABRE Family,A mere expression of thanks is not enough to express my heartfelt gratitude for your many contributions to St. Brendan High School. As the largest co-educational Catholic High School in Miami, our school is healthy and thriving because of the hard work and dedication of our teachers and your commitment as parents and alumni to the advancement of our school community. We have been able to continue renovating our school, with the completion of our beautiful new chapel, whose design and architecture was inspired by St. Francis of Assisi in Florence, Italy. Adjacent to the St. Brendan Courtyard and the Jose Rodelgo-Bueno Innovation Center, the Dedication of this new chapel will be held in the spring of 2023. At St. Brendan High School, we have continued to provide the latest in educational technology and with the help of our teachers, parents and alumni we are providing real world applications for our students through our Academies Programs. In the last year, our school achieved STEM Re-Certication, School-Wide Accreditation and we are well on our way to becoming an Apple Distinguished school. This year, we welcomed nearly 400 new students to our school with over 340 freshmen, 20 transfer students and a dozen international students from Spain, Italy, and France; the highest enrollment in the school’s history. We have welcomed our New Parents, our Parent Ambassadors and Alumni Representatives. We are grateful to the alumni who joined us for Homecoming Activities this fall and look forward to another amazing school year. At St. Brendan High School, we are “Led by Christ, who changes our hearts and the world.” We are a SABRE family who come together as brothers and sisters in Christ, through a share experience of faith, to make the world a better place. We do this with tremendous school spirit and pride. We are committed to the advancement of our school and its students through the Annual Fund, so that we may look beyond their education and build a city of God. We encourage you to continue to support St. Brendan High School and its plan for the future. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family.Sincerely yours in Christ,Ivette G. 18St. Brendan High School | www.stbrendanhigh.org/supportLetter from theDirector of Institutional Advancement Ana de ArmasDear St. Brendan High School Family,In January of 2022 I was blessed with the opportunity to return to my alma mater as the Director of Institutional Advancement. I am humbled and honored to serve St. Brendan High School in this capacity. My goal is to collaborate with administration, faculty, staff, current families and alumni to design and implement intentional and mission-centered fundraising initiatives. Through these initiatives, we hope to endorse ongoing enhancements to our academic and athletic programs, provide formation opportunities for all members of the Sabre community and subsidize the next phase of the school’s Master Plan.I would like to highlight some notable achievements from the 2021-2022 scal year. Our Sabre Cook-Off had the largest turnout since its inception with over 1500 people attending. It was also the most amount of money raised at this event–close to $46,000 net prot. Day of Giving, which took place on March 17th, was preceded by a poignant social media campaign. The campaign featured multiple videos of alumni, current faculty and students who were asked why it was important for our alumni and families to continue to invest their time, talent and treasure in St. Brendan High School. The campaign was very successful and we exceeded our $75,000 Day of Giving goal–our most prominent on record! This year we will have two community fundraising events: the Sabre Golf Classic on November 17, 2022 and the Sabre Cook-Off on February 25, 2023. We will also have two separate Days of Giving: Giving Tuesday, November 29, 2022 and Day of Giving, March 17, 2023. We will ofcially launch the Capital Campaign to initiate Phase III of the school’s Master Plan–the renovation of the gymnasium and pool–in the Spring of 2023. In 3 years, our school will turn 50 years old! We need the involvement and investment of all the members of our Sabre family to ensure the success of our fundraising initiatives. We invite you to make St. Brendan High School a philanthropic priority and hope you will be a part of this exciting and bold chapter in our school’s history!Yours in Christ,Ana de ArmasDirector of Institutional Advancement

34St. Brendan High School | www.stbrendanhigh.org/supportLetter from theDirector of Alumni RelationsSteve PiscitelliDear St. Brendan Family,I would like to thank all the alumni who contributed to St. Brendan High School’s Annual Fund for the scal year 2021-2022. It is wonderful to see our alumni giving back in such a big way. Last year our school welcomed over 30 alumni back on campus for Career Day 2022 as they shared their time and professional life experiences with our students. On Giving Tuesday, 65% of donors were alumni and on the Day of Giving 75% of all donors were graduates of St. Brendan High School. Out of the 45 graduating classes, 43 had alumni participation this past scal year.We would like to extend a special thanks to the class of 1980 for their enthusiastic and generous contributions on our Day of Giving campaign. Donations from this class came in from the East and West Coast and all points in between. They had the most contributors as well as the highest total amount in donations this year. Congratulations on winning the Day of Giving Class Challenge, Class of 1980!Bearing witness to the increase in alumni giving year after year, renews my passion to work alongside our impressive graduates. St. Brendan High School continues to strive for even higher levels of academic and athletic success. Renovations to the gym and pool are the next initiative of the school’s master plan. As always, the doors of our campus remain open to you. Your commitment and ongoing investment in our school will allow us to continue this incredible legacy of excellence. Mr. Steven PiscitelliDirector of Alumni Relations

44St. Brendan High School | www.stbrendanhigh.org/supportALUMNI SPOTLIGHTWhat motivates and inspires you to continue to invest your time, talent and treasure in St. Brendan High School?EILEEN FROMETA RODRIGUEZ ‘84TONY BARADAT ‘80When I graduated from St. B in 1984 my family was struggling nancially. With the help and exibility of the administration, my brother and I were both able to graduate from St. Brendan High School. The level of education and personal growth I received allowed me to go on to earn a scholarship to attend the University of Miami, and eventually have a long and successful banking career. Helping young people to have the same education and spiritual base that we were fortunate enough to receive is a cause near and dear to our hearts. That’s why both my husband and I direct a large portion of our donation budget to provide scholarships to students and give back to the community and schools that gave so much to us. The greatest memories of my childhood are from St. Brendan. I was given a special opportunity to be a part of our school during a difcult time in my life and St. Brendan provided me with friends, learning and growth. Now that I am able to give back, I take it very seriously. I want other kids that might not be as fortunate to know those special feelings.#wearethesabrepride
452021-2022 Annual Report of GivingJOHN DIEZ ‘88BOB DUCSAY ‘80BERNIE NAVARRO ‘91As an alumna and now a member of the St. Brendan High School faculty, it is an honor for me to be able to give back to my Sabre community. The St. Brendan inuence goes beyond the classroom. It allows for students to grow in their faith and provides the support necessary during some of their most formative years. Being able to give back what I learned in these halls and classrooms, to my students, is the greatest gift. St. Brendan is my pursuit of happiness.I am always inspired to make a difference in support of promising students who aspire to become St. Brendan Sabres. Guided by strong values, St. Brendan provides a wide-range of learning experiences that challenges and encourage students to exceed expectations.I feel even more passionate about St. Brendan High School now than I did when I matriculated there more than four decades ago. St. Brendan provided an incredibly warm and supportive environment that cultivated a creativity and curiosity that provided the foundation for my entire life since. It’s not something I will ever forget.St. Brendan is a magical place where my most cherished memories were born... it will always be my North Star. GISELLE IZQUIERDO ARCE ‘10#sabrealumni
