LETTER FROM S2S BOARD Springboard to Success S2S works to ensure Chicago Housing Authority CHA youth have equitable access to educational resources and opportunities Access to a good education should be a fundamental right of every young person in Chicago S2S supports the vital work of CHA and the Resident Services Division to reduce barriers and assist youth getting to and through college The challenges of 2020 impacted the lives of many and laid bare societal inequities that disproportionately affect CHA youth and their families Simply postponing summer programming was not an option and with committed partners we were fortunate and proud to see all S2S funded programs and events proceed allowing CHA youth to access resources at a critical time It may be difficult to look back on the past year fondly but we are heartened by the resilience and perseverance of CHA youth More than 150 started college in the fall 75 high school students participated in college prep programs and many others were connected to resources and paid learning opportunities Additionally S2S donors answered the call to assist CHA college students with technology support in the spring and joined us for an overwhelmingly successful virtual fundraiser in July We proudly present this annual report and look ahead with great optimism for the future remaining dedicated to our mission of helping CHA youth succeed in life S2S Board of Directors 2
