2020 DragonFlite 95 USA National Championship RegattaOctober 23-25 , 2020Bass Pro Shop / Lake Ray HubbardGarland TexasNOTICE OF RACEOrganizing Authority The 2020 DragonFlite 95 USA National Championship Regatta is organized by Trinity River Yacht Club (TRYC), AMYA Club #10 and the DF95 USA Class Owners Association (COA)in conjunction with the American Model Yachting Association (AMYA). 1. Rules1.1 The event will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020. RRS Appendix E willapply.1.2 The following documents will also govern the event:DF95 Restricted Class Rules (Current version)Heat Management Racing System (Current version)1.3 The Race Committee panel may publish, at its option, a document setting out anaccelerated procedure for protests and requests for redress.1.4 The following changes to RRS will apply:(a) loaned boats may carry the national letters denoting the national authority and/ or the sailnumber of the person or organization providing the boat. This changes RRS G1.1(b) asmodified by RRS E8.1.5 COVID Health and Safety protocols1.51 Covid Concerns and Regatta practicesGiven the unique nature of the times we are racing in, this regatta will be different in its execution. The Race Committee will be employing several non-negotiable health practices at this regatta and skippers that attend this regatta must follow these practices or they will be asked to leave the regatta and will not be allowed to continue racing.a) Skippers will be asked to maintain social distancing (6 feet of separation) during the regatta ifphysically possible, if not we ask that they wear a mask.b) Temperatures shall be checked every morning. Any skipper or regatta official or attendee whosetemperature is above the recommended minimum of 100.4 (has a fever) will not be allowed toremain on the race control or staging area.c) In the racing control area, as defined by the PRO and race committee, masks shall be worn at alltimes.1.52 While the Organizers will be implementing reasonable safety protocols, each individual attendee must decide if these guidelines meet their personal minimums and make their own choices. If the stated protocols do not meet what you believe to be safe guidelines for you or if you feel believe these practices “go too far” and you do not intend to follow them then you should not attend this event. Our primary concern is the health and safety of our competitors coming together for a national level event from all over the country. 5.3. The fee includes :Catered Lunches from Oct 23-25 . Water, and other drinks will also be provided on site. 5.4 All fees once paid are non refundable after the open registration close date Oct 1, 20202020 DF95 National Championship NOR PG 22. Eligibility2.1 . 60 competitors will be accepted for the regatta The competition is open by invitation on June 24, 2020 to the top 30 ranked skippers determined by the DF95 USA COA, and then to open registration for the remaining spots after July 15, 2020. to DragonFlite 95 AMYA registered skippers( or their own national Authority if not from the USA)3. Entry3.1 Entries and allocation of places shall be by invitation from the DF95 USA COA to the top 30 ranked skippers in its ranking released on www.dfracingusa.com.The initial ranked registration opening date shall be June 22nd, 2020.3.2 Only the 30 top ranked skippers as determined by the DF95 USA COA Ranking shall beeligible to register during this time period3.3 Entry forms shall be available on the event website at www.dfracingusa.com3.4 Entry forms and fees for initial Ranked Registration spots shall be completed and paid onlineby July 15th 2020.3.5 Open registration will be made available July 15, 2020.3.6 In order that a disabled competitor may be able to compete on equal terms, the racecommittee shall make as fair an arrangement as possible. Disabled competitors who require anyform of help or special requirements shall contact Chuck LeMahieu at cdlhockeyref@gmail.comprior to entry to confirm that suitable arrangements can be made. It is the competitor’sresponsibility to determine that adequate facilities are available before entering the event.4. Registration and Inspection4.1 Boats and batteries shall be presented for registration and equipment inspection on10/22/2022 from 11.00 to 18.00. also on 10/23/2020 8.00 to 10.00 All boats racing in the Championship must comply with the most current edition of the DF95 Restricted Class Rules.The Race Committee may extend the time for registration and inspection if there is a valid reasonto do so.4.2 No boat (except boats listed in 4.3) shall be eligible to race until it has been registered andhas passed equipment inspection.4.3 Replacement DF95 Boats may be provided by the Host Committee in the event of breakdown. These boats shall be considered eligible to race and may be used as a replacement boat by competitors, once verbally approved by the Technical Committee .5. Fees5.1 The fee for the event per boat is $85 USD Payment must be made via online registration to organizing Host Committee at the time of submission of event form. TRYC & AMYA havehosted several national & global level events here including the 2010 IOM USA NCR, 2016 DF95USA NCR, 2017 IOM USA NCR and the 2018 DF95 Global ChampionshipThe dock is used as a control area. It is over 270 meters long and 4 meters wide. It curves alongthe shore providing excellent sight lines, and the flexibility for the Race Committee to set long,square, consistent courses with the prevailing north/south winds, or even an east course ifneeded in the event of crazy Texas weather.Lake Ray Hubbard is a freshwater reservoir with a 10 km fetch from the south dam. Liability11.1 All those entering or taking part in this regatta do so at their own risk and responsibility.American Model Yachting Association, Trinity River Yacht Club, Bass Pro Shops, TLC on theLake and or any other parties involved in the organization of this event disclaim any and allresponsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that might occur topersons and goods, both ashore and on the water as a consequence of entering orparticipating in the event covered by this Notice of Race.At all times the responsibility for the safety of their boat and themselves including the decisionto participate or continue shall rest with the competitors and committee.By entering this event, it is deemed that you accept these conditions.
