General Information Saturday Shooting Chalet is open and practice commences at 9 00 a m Competition starts at 10 30 a m unless otherwise stipulated Registration closes at 12 00 noon Major Events and Championships Practice starts at 8 30 a m Competition starts at 10 00 a m Registration closes at 12 00 noon Wednesday Shooting No competition unless otherwise specified Chalet is open for shooting from 3 00 p m to 8 00 p m weather permitting times subject to change Dress Casual attire is recommended jeans are permitted Guns and Shells An assortment of guns are available for the use of Members and guests for both trap and skeet Shells are available for purchase A valid firearms license PAL is required to purchase shells and use Club guns without direct supervision individuals must be able to produce their license Safety The possession and use of firearms is strictly regulated and the Hunt Club must ensure that its activities are in compliance at all times These regulations establish conditions under which an individual may engage in the purchase and use of ammunition for non restricted firearms Non restricted firearms are the only type of firearms allowed on the Club premises and used only in conjunction with the activities of the trap facility Unless an individual is licensed to possess or borrow a nonrestricted firearm in accordance with federal regulations the individual must be under the direct supervision at all times of someone who is so authorized while in possession of and using the firearm Ammunition may only be sold to a person who can produce evidence that they are authorized to do so under Federal Regulations New trap and skeet shooters shall be approved by the Trap Skeet Committee as having received proper instructions on gun safety etiquette and the rules and regulations of trap and skeet Shooters are responsible for being aware of and obeying all current firearms regulations and legislation Shooters shall abide by Club regulations regarding firearm safety and our Code of Conduct No children under the age of 12 are permitted in either the Trap Chalet or on the premises surrounding the Chalet Children 12 and over are welcome and will receive instruction and supervision in shooting safety and handling Saturday November 10 Trap 50 Wobble Skeet 50 20 ga Practice 16 yds It is recommended that all shooters attend a firearms safety instruction course While this is the prerequisite to obtaining a firearm possession and acquisitions certificate it is also an extremely valuable opportunity to learn the proper and safe handling of firearms Saturday November 17 Carr Fall Classic Guests A guest of a Member is welcome to shoot any Saturday or Wednesday Guest fees are applicable to Saturday shooting only and have been established at 20 00 per guest Members are to introduce their guest to a Member of the Trap Committee The introducing Member is liable for all expenses incurred and will ensure the guest s are aware of the rules regulations and policies of the Trap Chalet A guest is limited to six introductions during the year and not six introductions by each or any Member exclusive of Club sponsored functions Saturday December 1 Instruction New shooters are welcome at any time during the season and instruction can be obtained from experienced shooters It is recommended that a new shooter contact the Trap Chair to confirm a time to ensure experienced shooters are available A New Shooter Clinic is held in October following Thanksgiving An introduction to the sport is provided along with safety and gun handling tips Wednesday December 26 M E Howe Boxing Day Shoot Saturday December 29 Trap 50 Wobble Skeet 50 20 ga Practice Handicap 1 2 Trap and Skeet Schedule of Events All trap and skeet events unless recognized as special shoots are for points towards year end trophies Practice for trap and skeet is open each Saturday prior to and following the event Saturday October 13 Introduction to Shooting Saturday October 20 Sue Thompson Centennial Trophy Opening Cocktail Party Saturday October 27 Trap 50 Handicap Skeet 50 12 ga Practice Doubles Saturday November 3 Trap 100 Doubles Skeet 50 Doubles Practice Wobble Saturday November 24 Trap 100 Doubles Skeet 50 Doubles Practice Handicap Fun Shoot Saturday December 8 Trap 50 Handicap Skeet 50 12 ga Practice Doubles Saturday December 15 Trap 100 Doubles Skeet 50 Doubles Practice 16 yds Saturday December 22 Trap 50 16 yds Skeet 50 12 ga Practice 16 yds Wobble Saturday January 5 Trap 50 Handicap Skeet 50 12 ga Practice Doubles Saturday January 12 Trap 100 Doubles Skeet 50 Doubles Practice Wobble Saturday January 19 Trap 50 Wobble Skeet Doubles 50 20 ga Practice 16 yds Saturday January 26 Trap 50 16 yds Skeet 50 12 ga Practice Handicap Saturday February 2 Trap 50 Handicap Skeet 50 12 ga Practice Doubles Saturday February 9 Trap 100 Doubles Skeet 50 Doubles Practice Wobble
