What: A Unique Biosciences Industry Fellows Program
This program runs for the month of June based out of the
National Center for the Biotechnology Workforce, Forsyth Tech,
Winston - Salem, NC
Its a professional development program that delivers both
hands-on skills and immersion into the industry
In turn as a Fellow, you have an obligation to share your
learning and experience with your colleagues at your college.
Instigate Professional Development between participants and
Industry Partners
Import experiences to contextualize curriculum
Familiarize with hand-on labs that are relevant to industry
Provide shadowing experiences
Capture and disseminate the experience
Understand the industry and potential for jobs
Produce innovative learning contextualized modules
Produce team presentations that cover the scope of the month
Video guest speakers, interviews with the Fellows and retain
experimental protocols
BIFP Fellows attend professional workshops and show case
their experience at local, regional and national conferences
To date we have run three BIFPs
2014 - 10 Fellows from 6 states
2015 - 8 Fellows from 4 states
2016- 8 Fellows from 3 states and 1
