Uncover the World's Wonderfully White Animals!
Native to the arctic tundra, the snowy owl can sometimes be found roosting in arctic towns. The female while generally having more brown in their feathers then the male does, can lay anywhere from 1-3 or 5 eggs at a time. Their eggs hatch after 5 weeks and after another 5 weeks, the magical moment happens! They leave the nest. Awww!
White Is for Albino Camel
Camels are beautiful animals, they mainly reside in the desert. These camels stick out horribly against the desert sand, because of their white color. Like most camels, they have fat in their humps and can go for quite a while without water. Though not always albino, they are white. So it is partially albino.
Long lasting Meal
Camels can survive for a large amount of time without food or water. Ever wonder why? Well contrary to popular belief, camels do not store water in their humps. They store fat from their food in them. This allows them to not eat for rather a long time. But being desert animals they can go for a while without water as well.
White is for White Lion
The white lion is a beautiful and magnificent creature. Most people believe a white lion would be a animal that wouldn't exist. But it does! It truly is a creature that is worth studying. Currently these lions ARE being studied to find out how tan lions can give birth to white ones.
The Savannaś Flash
Wow! A flash of light- was it a cheetah?! No- it is a white lion! These lions like most others, are terrific when it comes to running and jumping. Fully grown and mature lions can run at about 50 mph. Plus they can jump as far as 36 ft.
White is for Albino Zebra
Like all other zebras the albino has original and unique strips. But this one is all white with a different shade for their strips. Wow! That female is fat! No, she is carrying a foal. The baby looks like someone forgot to paint it! No, Just like itś Mama-all albino. The white zebra is probably a little bit lucky when it comes to surviving, it must be easier for this animal. Because of itś white color the dirt of the savanna covers it for better camouflage.
Tail High Jumping!
All zebraś have tails, but did you know that White Zebras have very long tails? Their tails reach 18 inches at longest. But they actually have a very important use. This use is that when the zebra´s are jumping the tail is what keeps them balanced. They should go to the olympics for the long jump.! HAHA!
White is for Polar Bear
Polar bears live in the arctic, and the arctic circle. These carnivorous animals can run speedly at a beastly speed of 25 mph once they are adults. In addition the international polar bear population is slowly coming down. If we don´t do something they could end up as extinct as the dinosaurs! This may partially be because their habitats are decreasing, this is because of global warming. The ice floats they hunt off of are melting, making it harder for them to find food.
Polar bears are beautiful, white, strong. Incorrect- they are not white. They have black skin, and transparent fur. They should be black then- no? They pick up their color from all the snow around them.
White is for White Deer
Ahhhhhh!!! Itś foggy and it looks like there's a ghost on the side of the road!!! No, is that a White deer? Whoa, those animals are like super rare! These creatures being hunted comes at price though. If you hunt them they will give you a long streak of bad luck. Despite that, few are lucky enough to even catch a glimpse.
Amazingly Sweet Swimmers
You can kind of just assume that this animal will hurle itself right over a stream right? No, they can swim and they will. For them it is to get away from a predator. They will even swim across lakes. Whatever it takes to survive.
White is for White Giraffe
The White Giraffe is the sore thumb of the savanna. It is a very tall mammal of which is also white. Clearly seen from yards away. But it makes up for sticking out with itś height and beauty. Even though it is not always the most graceful. Haha!
The white giraffe is a large mammal of which resides in the African savanna. The giraffe is one of the few mammals of which can go for quite a while without water. They have adapted to this by only drinking every few days. This is because their legs are too long and they need to lean down to get water, this can hurt so they only do this every few days.
White is for White Kangaroo
Many people know about the famous high jumpers. Kangaroos. But most people don't know about the white kangaroo. These fantastic beasts are very beautiful. But when angry, they can pose a threat. And no they don't put on boxing gloves and start to wrestle.
Kangaroos are amazing jumpers, but did you know they can swim? The White Kangaroo uses itś powerful back legs in a doggy paddle to propel through the water. These animals can swim 20 ft deep in the water. In addition they can swim at a speed of 43 mph over short distances. Over long distances they can swim at a speed of 25 mph.
White is for White Tiger
White tigers are ready to mate at 3 years old. They can have 3-4 babies at once. Or even 5. They stay with their mother until they are ready to mate. Even though the white tiger can have multiple babies at once, they are an considered an endangered species.
Meal Time= Swim Time?
Unlike most cats, the white tiger loves to swim if it means getting a tasty meal, or a drink. These ferocious beasts can swim at up to 20 miles and hour. That is with the help of their strong legs and paws. They will even go in the water to cool off or to escape a hunter. They should race Michael Phelps.
White is for White Turkey
Everybody eats turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. But no one can tell when when they are eating a infamous white turkey. When turkeys reproduce they have 12 babies. 28 days after they were laid they hatch. Yay…. Babys!!
More Ferocious Than They Seem!
Wow- not. ¨Big deal” you think when you see a turkey. Not anymore these, bad-boy-Birds are living dinosaurs. Well, partially- they are related to the Tyrannosaurus Rex. More commonly known as the T. Rex. They are also related to the velociraptor.
I asked 32 people what animal they would want as a pet from all the animals in this book.
Coming in second was the White Giraffe, with 5 votes.
