We are very excited to present the USciences Inaugural Professional Development Day for all employees. This day offers opportunities for staff to engage in a full day of participant-driven and educator-led professional development. The day of workshops is being hosted by Human Resources, Academic Technology and the Teaching & Learning Center.  Participants can choose from a variety of topics, ranging from Business Writing to Getting started with iPads. This first-ever staff development day features a comprehensive schedule of trainings that are typically offered throughout the year, but in a convenient ‘all-in-one-day’ format. The nearly 40 course offerings are complemented nicely by two highly sought-after presenters, David Friedman and Susan Danoff. David is an internationally recognized author and entrepreneur and Susan is an author and professional storyteller.

Special Guests

Susan Danoff has many years of experience in storytelling, teaching & writing. As a professional storyteller, Susan has told stories in hundreds of schools, colleges, libraries, museums, and conferences. She has also has taught the art of storytelling to adults who wish to communicate more effectively and has presented workshops at schools, universities, and museums including the Princeton University Art Museum, the Friends Council on Education, the School of Education at West Chester University.  For 21 years she taught an intensive summer seminar in the art of storytelling at Princeton University and for nine years she taught “The Craft of Writing.”  In Susan’s storytelling sessions she addresses community building, diversity, transition

and creativity. Susan is author of the book The Golden Thread: Storytelling in Teaching and Learning. She earned a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Princeton University, an M.A. in English from Rutgers University, and an English Teaching Credential from the University of California, Berkeley.
