Our naturally based products blend these ethically sourced British bee-ingredients with naturally active botanicals and potent British plant oils. We never use synthetic colours, mineral oil, silicone, SLS and SLES or parabens, our bees are never harmed and we never test on animals.   We’re passionate about supporting our countryside and plough back a share of all profits into UK beekeeping causes and in particular the apprenticeship and education of young bee farmers to help secure the future of our British bees. We pride ourselves on working in partnership with our producers and suppliers to go the extra mile in formulating the most effective skincare. 1

Skin benefits of honey, propolis & beeswax British wildflower honey For centuries honey has been one of nature’s best kept beauty secrets. In its purest form it’s suitable for all skin types even sensitive, and assists with cleansing and protecting the skin. Naturally antibacterial, it helps to balance hormonal skin and is full of antioxidants that collectively contribute to the slowing down of skin ageing. Honey is a natural humectant so not only does it attract water but it retains it in the skin so that the skin remains supple and elastic. This makes it extremely moisturising, soothing and able to protect against fine lines, wrinkles and dryness. 2 Propolis A true wonder ingredient, propolis is a resin collected by honeybees from tree sap and botanicals around them and is used to fill small holes and gaps in the hive. Propolis is a natural skin-soother, used in folk medicine for centuries and thought to have skin protecting and healing properties. Overall propolis helps in the maintenance of a strong immune system and the body’s resistance to viruses. For the skin, it’s strong antioxidant and antibacterial properties make it one of the best ingredients for balancing problematic skins. It stops bacteria spreading and enhances skin renewal. Rich in vitamins B, C and E it’s a natural skin healer. Beeswax Beeswax is another miracle-worker in nature’s arsenal! A natural emollient, it reduces water loss and acts as a shield against the elements. It’s perfect when incorporated into products like lip and hand creams, designed to help protect against harsh weather. When used as an emollient and humectant, beeswax will help to soften dry and parched skins. Rich in vitamin A it can support cell rejuvenation and re-hydration. 3

Skin benefits of our British Botanicals Bees love them and we love them as ingredients in our skincare. Some are well-known, others less so, but blended in our products, the oils from these botanicals all have very special skin benefits. Borage oil A bee-friendly plant with blue, star-shaped flowers and tiny seeds. Crammed with GLA (gamma linolenic acid), borage oil is one of the richest sources of the essential fatty acid, and helps to lock moisture onto the skin. Camelina oil Bee-friendly camelina is also known as wild flax or gold of pleasure. Grown in the UK, but lesser known than other crops, camelina is a potent source of essential fatty acids including linoleic acid and alphalinolenic acid, helping to reduce moisture-loss, protect and nourish the skin. Crambe oil Often compared to jojoba oil, crambe seed oil is lesser known, but has significantly higher levels of erucic acid. For our skin, this means a strong concentration of omega 9, a non-essential fatty acid. Crambe oil is deeply nourishing, protects against dehydration and helps to control the overproduction of sebum. 4 Echium oil Echium oil is unique in that it contains nature’s richest known source of SDA (stearidonic acid) which helps treat disorders such as eczema, acne and psoriasis. Echium has been shown to reduce redness and replenish drier skin. Rapeseed oil Rapeseed oil has wonderful softening, smoothing and potential antioxidant properties for the skin. It is rich in oleic acid and other important skin lipids. Raspberry seed oil Made up of over 80% essential fatty acids, this oil is exceptionally high in antioxidant tocopherols (vitamin E) and carotenoides (vitamin A). It possesses strong anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties and helps protect against wrinkles and damage which can lead to premature ageing. Blackcurrant seed oil Super-rich in linoleic, alpha linolenic & gamma linolenic acid, this oil helps to prevent premature skin ageing by repairing tissue damage and reducing wrinkle formation. 5

The British honeybee Save all our bees Honeybees are a key part of the British ecosystem. They are social insects, uniquely able to coordinate their efforts so that thousands of bees can pollinate a fruit tree or field of plants at the same time ensuring a good crop for the gardener or farmer. All of Britain’s bees are in serious trouble. The numbers of bumblebees and solitary bees has declined rapidly since the 1940’s and several species are now extinct. Without the tireless work of our little buzzing friends, over one third of everything we eat would disappear from our tables. Yet across our countryside, honeybees and their cousins face many challenges. There’s the loss of natural habitat, a lack of forage from declining wildflower meadows, and a toxic cocktail of pesticides. In addition, wild honeybee colonies have been practically wiped out by the deadly varroa mite and managed colonies now need careful management by beekeepers to ensure their survival. Just as these tiny insects have a vital role to play in the sustainability of humanity, we all have a role to play in their survival and the sustainability of their environment. On the next few pages read what we’re doing at Bee Good and what you can do to help save our countryside’s bees. Taking just the smallest step will help to make a big difference.  14 15

How Bee Good E is helping BEOD GO We love our precious bees and do all we can to look after them. We responsibly source and harvest British honey, propolis and beeswax in a way that does not harm the bees and which reinvests in their future. Since we are committed to sourcing our core ingredients from UK bees we’re naturally passionate about supporting UK beekeeping generally and British bee farmers specifically. For us the recruitment, support and education of the young bee farmers of tomorrow is crucial work that we actively support. Meet bee farmer Rob By working closely with our trusted suppliers and beekeepers we feel that we’re helping to revitalise key rural practices at the heart of the British countryside. Rob, pictured here, is a key supplier of our honey, propolis and beeswax. He is a 2nd generation bee farmer of 25 years with 600 hives across Dorset and Wiltshire. His award-winning honey from bees kept in Salisbury Plain’s MOD training area is highly prized as the area is completely wild with no farming or pesticides allowed. Apart from the odd army tank, the bees are completely undisturbed for most of the year! We donate a percentage of profits to support the UK Bee Farmers Association, sponsoring Sebastian Lever, one of the new generation of apprentice beekeepers in the UK. , apprentice sponsored Bee Good tor en with his m Sebastian 16 17
