The Monumental Tower (former Tower of the English) is a monument located in the Retiro neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Located in the Argentina Air Force (formerly British square) square next to the street San Martin and Libertador Avenue. It was built by British residents in the city to commemorate the centenary of the May Revolution. After the Falklands War in 1982, the Tower of the English was renamed to its original name "Torre Monumental", while citizens continue to refer to it with the name "Tower of the English."
