Love Story is BEAUTIFUL but Ours is MY Favorite Every Casildo s version It was October 1963 when I first met Mila at the University of the East while with a friend I was mesmerized by her beauty and charm After that first meeting I wanted to see her more often as my schedule availed In the beginning she tried to avoid me as she would divert her exit when I would go to pick her up No matter where she went I always caught up with her as she stood above the rest of her crowd because of her height She didn t allow me to visit her at her dorm so I patiently waited for the perfect time It took some convincing to show her that my intentions were genuine And soon enough we officially became girlfriend and boyfriend It eventually transpired into a romantic relationship I felt so lucky to have found the right woman to complete me I knew all along that she was the woman that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and raise a family She is a woman of integrity who is loving and God fearing In the year 1966 I left the Philippines and my schooling to pursue a life career to serve in the military and signed a four year contract with the US navy After 18 months of service I was granted a leave of duty I immediately returned back to Tampos Mayanan in Santa Cruz Zambales where I left my heart I asked Amang and Inang permission to marry their beautiful daughter Then asked Mila for her hand in marriage On October 21 1967 there was wedding bells and we began a new chapter as husband and wife God blessed us with three children two beautiful girls and a handsome son
Mila s version Chris and I were both born and raised in Santa Cruz Zambales We didn t grow up together nor did we attend school at the same time Actually Nita my oldest sister was his contemporary I first met Chris at the University campus through a mutual friend His friend approached me I thought it was he who was interested in courting me Then I started to notice Chris more frequently He waited for me after my classes and occasionally escorted me to my dormitory which was located across the street from the school Chris would make surprise visits at our family s store and ask to see me Our friendship developed however with some hesitation on my part initially But he was persistent I admired this persistent courtship I started to realize that he possessed the qualities that every woman admires in a man I fell in love with him being a thoughtful loving and a kindhearted gentleman In 1966 he enlisted in the U S Navy with the promise to be back after completing his four year contract and to plan for our marriage However he returned home after a little over a year He went directly to visit my parents to ask for their blessing to be with me for the rest of my life He then surprised me with a marriage proposal On October 21 1967 we said our I Do s From then on we continue to live our never ending love story and create many cherished memories together Better than I was More than I am And all this happened by Taking your hand
