HOW TO GET THERE?

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

If you go in Australia, in particular in the south eastern region of Victoria, you must visit a famous and unmissable coastal landform: The Twelve Apostles.

Indeed, in Port Campbell National Park, you can see an unusual series of stacks, particularly beautiful at the sunset. The Twelve Apostles are situated in the Shipwreck Coast, a zone of the Great Ocean Road and they can reach 45 meters high. The name "Twelve Apostles" is not the first. At the beginning of the collection of pillars was called the "Sow and Piglets", but in the 1922 there was a change and the name became " The Twelve Aposles". In spite of the name, the stacks are only seven now.

WHAT ARE THE TWELVE APOSTLES?

The formation of The Twelve Apostles started over 10 or 20 milion years ago, when they was still part of the cliff. These monolithes were separate from the rocky side by the action of the waves and by the wind. First caves were created, then the caves became arch and , at the end, the arch collapsed forming stack. At the beginnig there were twelve Apostles, but during the years some of them fall down and now only eight monolith are standing. Despite the changing number of the Aposteles, the name is always The Twelve Apostles for turists reasons.
