Saint Anthony's School Profile

OUR SCHOOL Established on Long Island by the Franciscan Brothers in 1933, Saint Anthony's High School continues an 800 year old Franciscan tradition of excellence in education. We are a private, Roman Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory school for students in grades 9 - 12 located in the suburban community of South Huntington, New York. Our school is a true representation of the ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of Long Island, as our students travel from over 100 school districts from Manhattan to Montauk. Admission is selective and based upon the results of the Catholic High School Entrance Examination administered to 8th grade students. Students who achieve above average test scores, demonstrate the ability to succeed in a competetive college preparatory environment, and show a strong desire to attend Saint Anthony's receive admittance. Approximately 590 students are enrolled out of the 1760 applicants. All students are required to complete a New York State Regents academic program. Founded upon the Franciscan principle, "Capture the heart and the mind will follow", Saint Anthony's encourages young men and women to nurture their moral, intellectual, aesthetic, and physical faculties in an atmosphere of faith, respect, and encouragement.
