Phishing: A form of fraud where someone tries to learn private information about someone else over the interent; similiar to blackmailing.


Podcast: an MP3 file made available for downloading and use on the internet


Aggregator: A program that collects information on a topic and displays that information or links to them



Digital Life 101


Rules for Having Good Passwords

1. Don't ise personal information, things like your birthday or SSN are not safe passwords to use

2. Don't use the same password for multiple accounts

3. Keep your passwords written down and in a safe place

4. Try using a password manager, they can help you remember and keep passwords safe!

5. Longer passwords are better than shorter ones.

How to have good etiquette online:

1. Don't say things that could hurt someone's feelings, you never know what they might do

2. Respect other peoples' privacy

3. Act online how you would in real life

4. Forgive people for their mistakes

5. Don't start flame wars


Protect Yourself Online

When online use smart and strong passwords, this way, there's no way of people hacking intto your accounts. You also need to make sure to be aware of fradulent emails being sent to you, if you open them you could get viruses. You also need to know to never give out personal information online.

Digital Piracy

Digital piracy is the illegal sharing of media that you do not own. People download movies, music, and even documents that they haven't made. Piracy is a crime and you will be punished for pirating movies and music.

1. Don't impesonate other people 

2. Act online how you would offline

3. Be respectful and forgiving online

4. Don't say anything hurtful to those you talk to online

Cyberbullying is being bullied online. Whether it's on social media or an instans messenger, its cyberbullying. People can post emabarrassing pictures or videos of you, spread rumors, even impeersonate you! Cyberbullying is wrong and no good comes out of it.


Things you can do to stop cyberbullying

1. Close your laptop

2. stand up for someone you think is being cyberbullied

3. know who your friends are

4. Don't post personal pictures of yourself
