A message from the president
On behalf of the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center (JACCC), it is our pleasure to announce the 34th Anniversary Celebration and Awards Dinner on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the Omni Hotel, Downtown Los Angeles. The theme of our event is Fashion Forward: Celebrating the Style of Japanese American Designers. We invite you to join us in celebrating the accomplishments of Tadashi Shoji and Anne Namba, who have contributed to the world of fashion through their inspiring approaches by bridging the Japanese American culture and the American ideas in the fashion industry.
Mr. Tadashi Shoji is a Japanese-born American designer and founder of the Tadashi Shoji collection. He is known internationally for his original designs and innovative gown lines for women of all ages, ethnicities, and all figures. Mr. Shoji has continued to show his support by helping to bridge the Japanese American community and the fashion industry through his gown donations to support various organizations. Mr. Shoji will be honored with the Chairman’s Award.
Ms. Anne Namba is a creative and passionate designer and founder of Anne Namba Designs, known for her “Kimono Couture” clothing line. Ms. Namba continues to use Asian themes as her inspiration for her clothing designs. Ms. Namba has generously contributed her design talents in support of the JACCC through events over the past few years. She will be honored with the Pacific Pioneer Award.
The JACCC will also be recognizing the 3rd Annual Community Spirit Award Recipients. These individuals are nominated by the community in an effort to highlight the unsung heroes who are making a significant impact on our community through arts, activism, social services, or business. Thank you very much for your consideration of this request. We look forward to seeing you at our Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, June 7th.
