Important Announcement!

We are currently looking into creating another group of readers specifically for ARC copies of upcoming books. Those in the group will be given books and expected to post a review before/on their scheduled release dates. If you're interested in ARC copies, you must be a regular reviewer of the monthly offerings, so we know you have the time to read/review the books on a tighter schedule. This group would operate as a launch group for these pre-release books.

If you're interested or have questions, please reach out to Kat Avila at kjavila@ourwriteside.com.

Maladaptation by Adan Ramie

Synopsis:

A drug deal gone wrong. The murder of an old friend. A stolen ride turned kidnapping. Three women follow the same path on a map plotted by murder. Who will survive?

A romantic thriller readers call "dark and gritty" and "a haunting story". "This is not two heroines on the run, finding love, defeating evil and living happily ever after."

Lee Barsten is stuck. Raised in foster care and group homes, she’s seen more than her fair share of abuse, and dealt out almost as much in retribution. When her best friend makes an enemy of a sadistic drug dealer, she has no choice but to run before he kills again.

In the same city, Ruby Isles might as well be living in another world. Money is abundant, but the abuse is just as plentiful. Her plan to leave her husband is dashed when she crosses paths with Lee and is forced to choose her fate in a single bloody moment.

Detective Harry Thresher picks up the scent when an exotic dancer is violently murdered, and fingerprints link the wife of a prominent businessman to the crime scene. Against orders, she follows the case down a dark and twisted path littered with bodies.

Their lives collide as drugs, murder, and lust drive them to unexpected extremes.

Proelium Veritas by John T. Murphy

Synopsis:

The Mission Veritas adventure continues with more aliens, more combat, and more sizzle!

Since the Carthenogens arrived from another planet nearly fifty years ago, the world has had no wars—or so everyone thinks. But the Global Alliance, doing the bidding of Earth’s almond-eyed “saviors,” has been scooping up humans by the interstellar boatload. Only a handful of people know the truth: the elite resistance fighters of Black Saber.

Vaughn Killian saw it all firsthand while surviving two years of hell in the brutal purge of Bangkok. Now a fully trained Black Saber operative, he’s anxious to get back into the fight to save humanity from the deceptive peace-preaching aliens. When disaster strikes their remote space outpost, Killian winds up stranded and adrift a half a galaxy away from the planet that needs him most.

Killian took a vow: “Resist to the death.”

He’s not dead yet.
