Planning for FASET Dates Summer First Year FASET June 14 15 Fall First Year FASET Session 1 July 6 7 Session 2 July 17 18 Session 3 July 20 21 Session 4 July 27 28 Session 5 July 31 August 1 Session 6 August 13 14 Session 7 August 15 16 Registration DEADLINE June 15 at midnight All sessions are available on a first come first served basis with limited availability Please see summer FASET housing information on page 9 Sessions 6 and 7 are reserved for international students and out of state students living 800 or more miles away however space is not guaranteed so prompt registration is encouraged Other students may request these sessions space permitting starting June 20 Please see Page 9 for Sessions 6 and 7 housing details Note There is no FASET session waitlist FASET Registration Opens Wednesday May 17 at 10 a m ET www nssp gatech edu 5

FASET Schedule First Year Student FASET is a two day orientation session Day 1 begins at 8 a m Students will have activities planned until 11 p m on the first day guests will finish by early evening Day 2 begins at 7 45 a m for both students and guests and will conclude by 6 p m Session Assignments and Confirmation You will receive your session assignment and confirmation after you complete the registration process You may attend only the session for which you have registered For questions about registration email nssp studentlife gatech edu or call 404 894 6897 Cancellation Policy To receive a refund of the registration fee less a 50 administrative fee all cancellations must be made in writing at least 15 business days in advance of your session To request a refund email nssp studentlife gatech edu Students and Guests with Disabilities Please indicate on your FASET registration if you or anyone in your party have needs relating to a disability If you need an accommodation indicate it on your FASET registration and notify us at nssp studentlife gatech edu at least three weeks before your intended FASET session While at FASET you may wish to schedule an appointment with the Office of Disability Services to discuss your specific ongoing needs For information call 404 894 2563 voice or 404 894 1664 TDD or visit www disabilityservices gatech edu 7

Preparing for FASET There are a number of steps you must take and requirements you must meet to avoid holds being placed on your account that would prevent you from registering for FASET courses Ensure that your current test scores have been sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admission To help with your course registration we highly encourage you to bring an additional copy of these scores with you to FASET Have your final and official high school transcript showing your date of graduation forwarded to the Office of Undergraduate Admission as soon as it is available In accordance with University System of Georgia policy all students admitted to Georgia Tech must provide documentation showing that they are lawfully present in the United States Completion of the FAFSA form typically satisfies this requirement Students who need to provide additional documentation will be notified via email by the Office of Undergraduate Admission 8

FASET Housing Summer First Year FASET If you re living on campus for the Summer 2017 semester you can check in to your residence hall starting at 8 a m on Tuesday June 13 For check in locations visit www housing gatech edu If you have questions regarding move in contact the Department of Housing at 404 892 2470 All students are required to stay on campus during FASET If you are not going to live on campus this summer please indicate this when you register for FASET so we can arrange on campus accommodations for your FASET session Sessions 1 5 Since Day 1 activities go until 11 p m all students attending FASET sessions 1 5 are required to stay in a residence hall Housing is not available after FASET concludes on Day 2 Sessions 6 and 7 Students attending FASET sessions 6 and 7 who have a residence hall assignment for Fall Semester are required to move in the day before their session Check in procedures are available starting mid July at www housing gatech edu If you will not be living on campus during the Fall Semester on campus housing will not be available to you during sessions 6 or 7 For convenient accommodations see hotel listings on page 15 9

Just for International Students First year international students are expected to attend FASET session 6 August 13 14 or session 7 August 15 16 There is not enough time for students to check in to their Fall Semester housing before the start of FASET so students are required to move in the day before their FASET session International Student and Scholar Services within the Office of International Education OIE requires all new international students to check in with OIE prior to registering for classes A registration hold will be put on your account until check in is completed FASET Session 7 registration fills up on the first day Students are guaranteed a spot in sessions 6 or 7 but it is not guaranteed NSSP can accommodate the demand for FASET Session 7 Please plan accordingly Additional Programs Additional activities will be offered before FASET sessions 6 and 7 that will further assist in your transition to life in the U S while attending Tech These include shopping trips to local stores and a cellphone and banking fair International Student Welcome Series Just before the fall semester starts new international students are expected to attend International Student Welcome Series which is held by the Office of International Education This series includes a variety of informational sessions and social activities designed to aid in the transition to Georgia Tech as a new international student 11

Sibling Orientation Each summer FASET orientation welcomes over 3 000 new students to our Institute and with those new students comes 3 000 family members A big part of those families are the siblings of our incoming students FASET offers a Sibling Orientation Program that runs concurrently with the Student and Guest Orientation schedule Programming will engage GT Siblings in interesting Georgia Tech activities and traditions while helping them understand what it is like being a Yellow Jacket Siblings will be have the chance to Take a campus tour Get a picture with Buzz or the Ramblin Reck Create some GT keepsakes and write a letter to their sibling The activities are suited for children over the age of 6 to the age of 16 years old These programs will allow student s siblings to experience GT in a way that will keep them engaged during FASET Sibling Orientation cost 120 Includes all activity fees Day 1 lunch and dinner and day 2 breakfast 14

Wreck Camp Schedule Day 1 The first day of Wreck Camp is about making connections and learning Georgia Tech traditions through small group sessions our annual Traditions Skit trivia and our themed social Day 2 On the second day we talk more about life at Georgia Tech your leadership and what it means to be a student here Day 2 is also when we have our Wreck Camp Games a field day competition between color teams and the Color War Day 3 The final day of Wreck Camp is all about taking what you ve learned to get ready to head back to campus We ll have advice panels from our staff on a variety of topics our awards ceremony and one final small group Cost Registration for Wreck Camp begins April 4 and the cost is 230 per student The Wreck Camp International cost is 445 Need based scholarships are available If you would like to move into your fall residence hall prior to camp you may do so for a fee of 250 All Wreck Camp fees will be posted to your student account www bursar gatech edu 27
