More Details: Door Symbols
This is the CA Title 24 geometric
door symbol. It is required on all
restrooms, accessible or not.
The wheelchair is optional and only
for accessible restrooms.
The circle is required to contrast with
the door. This blue door needs a light
colored circle.
These light colored
doors need a dark
colored circle.

More Details: Wall Signs
This is the ADA restroom wall sign.
This is the sign on the latchside of
the restroom door and requires
tactile (raised) text and braille.
The pictogram is not required but
recommended because it makes
the sign more visible, recognizable
and more accessible.
This particular pictogram is 100%
gender-neutral

Another Thing
Do NOT go to
the big box
hardware store
and buy one of
these:
There are several code
violations associated with
this sign, even if the “experts”
at the store tell you this is all
you need.
