When, Why they started
On September 5,1980, Mother Against Drunk Driving was incorporated and the misson as stated in its Articles of Incorporation were "To aid the victims of crimes performed by individuals driving under the influences.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is a nonprofit in the United States and Canada that seeks to stop drunk driving, support those affected by drunk driving, prevent underage drinking, and strive for stricter impaired driving policy, whether that impairment is caused by alcohol or any other drug.
To aid the families of such victims and to increase public awareness of the problem of drinking and drugged driving.
MADD are Mothers that are against drunk driving. Its one of the nations nonprofit organizations working to protect & support all drunk drivers and victims at free of charge.
Candy Lightner founded one of the country's largest activist organizations, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, after her daughter died in a drunk driving accident.
