Flower Jean Necklace

jeans

a few beads with large holes

3/8 inch satin ribbon

mod podge

hot glue

large needle for ribbon and beads.

wooden skewer

First, cut out a wide strip of denim from some jeans.  Brush a layer of mod podge about an inch long on fabric.  Take the skewer and start rolling the denim around it.

Put more Mod Podge on as you roll.  Keep rolling until it is about 2 layers thick.  Then cut off that edge.

Put another layer of Mod Podge on to seal the edge.  Let dry for at least 30 minutes.  After it is dry start cutting the tube into 1/4 inch pieces.

When you have all the pieces cut.. cut a small circle out of the denim.  Place a glob of hot glue in the middle then place your bead inside.  Next place the denim pieces around that to form a flower.

Once you have 3 flowers made glue it onto a piece of ribbon (large enough to be tied with a bow around your neck).   I secured the flowers with a strip of denim on the back.  Last string the beads onto the ribbon.

Now tie your pretty necklace around your neck!

Large popsicle sticks (aka jumbo craft sticks)

Craft paint

Paint pen or Sharpies (I recommend a dark color and a light color)

You can decorate your bookmarks as you would like. I found my inspiration from the following image and thought the idea of arrows would pair perfectly with the shape of the large popsicle sticks.

Apply two coats of craft paint allowing them to dry in between layers. The edges may need to be touched up a bit as well. For the reclaimed wood effect. I watered down brown craft paint and applied only one layer. I really like the look it made causing the wood grain to stand out.

 Popsicle Stick Bookmarks

I used the Painter’s pen to put X’s on one side of the rock and O’s on the other side. I used my black Painter’s pen to make the tic-tac-toe board on the burlap bag. Now the bag totes the rocks and is the playing board.

Tic Tac Toe Game

Cut your fabric into two pieces, one 10.5″ by 5″ and the other 11″ by 2.5.”

Using your hot glue gun, apply a line of glue to the middle of the fabric down the length and fold over one third side of the fabric towards the center.

Repeat on the opposite side.

Now, move to your larger piece of fabric. Use the hot glue to fold over a 1/2″ seam on both of the shorter sides.

Flip the fabric over so the right side is facing up. Apply hot glue to the outer edges of one half of the longer sides.

Fold over and press firmly.

Now, take your smaller fabric we worked with earlier and glue the bottom inch and a half to the sides of the inside of the pouch as shown.  Again, press firmly and allow the glue to dry completely.

Carefully flip the pouch right side out-keep your glue gun handy in case you need to touch any areas that may not have stuck together properly.
