NAZARETH IS letter H ME FROM THE CEO the legacy continues NAZARETH IS H ME Nazareth Living Center is indeed a Sacred Place that many call Home. M ore than 140 years ago, the Sisters of St. Joseph came to this site to teach young postulants how to better serve their God and their dear neighbors. Now, they are living their retirement years at Nazareth with members of the St. Louis lay community. Together, they worship daily in our chapel, they enjoy their meals and share their stories. A day does not go by for me without thinking about my parents, the loving nurturing environment they gave me. Our home was always special - a gathering place for friends and family; where we enjoyed meals and the peace that comes from "When you walk through Nazareth’s doors you see the care, you feel the love. The spirit enlightens me.” being surrounded by people who love you. That is how I would describe Nazareth. It is Home to more than 200 seniors who spent their adult lives raising and loving us. Our current development project is a new Memory Care assisted living facility and renovation of McGovern skilled nursing. The new and renovated space will provide more private rooms, increased therapy space and a better opportunity for residents to live up to their abilities. For all they have done for us, the Nazareth residents deserve this project. "Our home was always special - a gathering place for friends and family; where we enjoyed meals and the peace that comes from being surrounded by people who love you. That is how I would describe Nazareth. It is Home to more than 200 seniors who spent their adult lives raising and loving us." S t. Joseph was a man who followed dreams in his loving service to the Lord. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, too, have followed their dreams in their years “ Feeling at home even before you move in. Where compassion is always the basis of care.” spirit tradition This is the first time Nazareth has asked the community for financial assistance with its capital needs. Our total project cost is $7.7 million and our campaign goal is $3 million. The size and scope of this endeavor is such that we are going to the St. Louis community for your understanding and your financial support. Thank you for considering our request for financial assistance. Please keep us in your prayers for a successful campaign. of loving service. Following dreams includes change. It has been said that change is the only constant and that change is a sign of life. This is certainly true of Nazareth. From the yellow farmhouse in 1872 to the first convent in 1880 to Gleason Hall in 1965 to McGovern Commons in 1992 and now to the Village at Nazareth, change has been embracedchange which is truly alive and life giving. The center of this life for Nazareth is and has always been the chapel. It is this gathering place where Mass is Best Regards, celebrated daily and where sisters, lay residents, staff and visitors pray – whether in community or as individuals seeking to deepen their connection to God and God’s people.
