Bishop Jordan gave phenomenal words in
regards to the tremendous support in the loss of his little girl, as he
refers to her. The Late Mother Marta
Jordan.
He stated the Apostolic Assemblies of
Christ, family which included the
Founder, Presiding Bishop, Bishops,
Pastors, Elders, saints and friends that was in attendance at the
Home Going Services of Mother Jordan. He stated he was deeply
grateful. He also stated this was the first time he has been at the
CDC without his little girl, Mother Jordan, but he will get through it
with the Lords help.
He said we are living in in a hostile and
critical generation; we are being tested. He
has loss three mothers of his church in six
months.
He went on to say it is hard to replace
those pillars of the church.
He echoed with praises given to the CDC Chairman District Elder
Sorrells, Bishop Jordan said that he is a workaholic, alongside him
his wife Sister Regina Sorrells. He stated they are an asset to the
CDC.
He said he loves the CDC, and whenever our brothers and sisters
in Christ are in trouble we have to circle the wagons.
State Of The Council Address: District Elder Derrick Sorrells
District Elder Sorrells gave honor to the Founder Bishop G.M.
Boone in his absence, the Presiding Bishop Donald Sorrells, to the
Diocesan Bishop N. Jordan and also accolades to the host Pastor
Bishop Gilbert, for having such wonderful location to host the
Council.
District Elder Sorrells gave pertinent information on the church
reports, as well as registration.
He said we would continue to stay in the black if the registrations
continue to come in. he stated due to some unforeseen
responsibilities, e.g. bereavements, and AAC responsibilities is why
the CDC is somewhat short. Need more delegates to register.
He too made mention of the Late Mother Marta Jordan, his
appreciation also of the attendance and support Bishop Jordan
receive during those hours of darkness.
He said he along with the CDC’s help he would like to create
something that would represent something in honor of the late
Mother Jordan in her name at the Council, a scholarship or etc.
District Elder change gears speaking on the
financial stability of the CDC, he would like to
do some innovative things for growth to
increase the stability of the CDC. Money is
the answer to all things he restated.
He made mention of the letter that was
created by Bishop Jordan and was sent to all of the CDC Pastors
concerning monthly funds that would cushion the CDC treasurer
and for the greater good. He said; we need to get to that level.
He also stated that there is expansion on the way for the CDC,
there are churches that are looking in Kentucky, which has an
interest in joining. He said he has reached out to some of the
former churches as for reinstatement.
They also would like to organize a youth auxiliary power up service;
and need a good balance from the seasoned saints and the youth.
He said there are always more season saints in attendance.
He encourages all the auxiliary chairs to be proactive; to have their
programs in advanced with the theme, the speakers and any type
of programing during that auxiliary session to submit it prior to the
Council; this will help the CDC programs run smoothly without
glitches.
He also said the CDC needs a brand, a notable brand also we
need to develop a pamphlet.
District Elder Sorrells gave such poised, weighty, and reflective
words as for the state of the Union address to the CDC.
Sunday School Session:
Chairlady: Evang. Marva Simmons, Subject: Where Did Sunday
School Start?
Evang. Simmons stated that Sunday School started in Britain in the
Seventeen Hundreds.
This was to help the children from a life of
literacy. They did hard labor such as
fieldwork.
She stepped off scrip momentary to
commend the group of young people that
Was in attendance at this CDC Sunday
School session.
She complimented them that she was very impressed with their
attendance and apt to learn.
She also gave the
fundamentals and
importance of
Sunday School,
she hard pressed
upon us that this is where she was introduced to the Lord in
Sunday School.
She asks for interactions and collaborations in the class, there
were a few comments, Missionary Anderson stated that she loves
Sunday school and it is such a great start, and propels you into the
morning worship.
Due to unpopular belief; some think Sunday school is for children.
The nuggets and wholesome word of God that is taught and
shared in the Sunday school class is second to none.
Evang. Simmons stated that the teachers were
always older and in-depth and there was vast
learning and comprehension was right inside of
the class.
District Elder Sorrells gave highlights of his up bringing in Sunday
school. He said there were banners given for attendance, non-
tardiness, stars given for attendance, and offerings. They had to
quote that verse of the day; he said you must make it exciting.
Evang. Simmons said the students were excited and was rewarded
and were also given incentives for skits, quoting the scriptures and
etc.
She reaffirmed, if you are not excited how do we expect the
students to have excitement and motivation.
Very well taught by the precious Evang. Marva Simmons.
Lunch: complimentary lunch served, chicken salad served on
baguette buns, chips, cookies and soda
Missionary Session: Chairlady Evang. Lovette
Speaker: Evang. Lovia Stevenson
Matt.14:14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a
great multitude, and was moved with
compassion toward them, and he healed their
sick.
Subject: “Little Is Much”
Evang. Stevenson stated we could always help someone with the
little that we have.
“For the Love Of Others” Evang, Stevenson gave case and point of
how someone was asking for alms, and she prayed for them. They
receive food with necessities. She also told us a compelling story
of a young lady took $30.00 and fed 500 people, simply because
she saw and felt a need. The young lady did not
just stop there, she became innovative and
creative with her thinking.
She made a vow that when she reaches the age
of thirty years of age, on her next birthday she
wanted to be able to feed 30,000 people.
Someone heard her petition and passion she was blessed with
$5000.00 and was able to feed the 30,000 people.
Little Is Much” when we place it in the hands of the Lord.
For the Love of Others we can achieve many things.
Evang. Stevenson gave a captivating lesson on Little is Much, we
savored it immensely.
Speaker: Minister Loren White,
Subject: “You Have To Be Dusty”
Matt.10:14 And whosoever shall not receive
you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city,
shake off the dust of your feet.
Luke 9:5 and whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of
that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony
against them.
Min. White stated the Lord is concern about Outreach, she said the
spiritually need s are very important, so many times she said that
we are trying to minister to the natural needs than the spiritual
needs.
He quoted these signs shall follow them that believe, there are
many crying out for help spiritually and naturally.
When mankind sees the light, they will be drawn to that light. There
is opportunity to evangelize.
Minister White stated we must have collaboration
and cooperation for us to be successful.
He stated Jesus sent them out two by two,
different resources and diverse strengths and
weakness.
How can two walk together except they agree?
He made mention of Paul and Mark had to separate because the
contentions were so strong between the two of them
He use some mathematical equations, he said the two split with
the addition of two made four now there are two teams instead on
one maybe synergy I’m injecting; Combined effort being greater
than parts; Paul & Silas as well as John Mark & Barnabas.
Minister White said we have a spiritual allergen, alleging to the
sinner man or sinner woman, he stated and such was some of us.
Get dusty, He was pointed and precise we enjoyed him.
Remarks, Presiding Bishop D. Sorrells
Bishop Sorrells gave salutations to the
founder, Bishop G.M. Boone also
wholesome words on the session how he
was enjoying himself.
Remarks: Diocesan
Bishop N. Jordan made mention of all of the
good nuggets that is shared at the CDC, he
quoted the scripture
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a
workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.
Very inspirational words coming from Bishop Jordan.
Christian Education: Speaker: Pastor Dr. Christine Grant,
Gen. 15:01 after these things the word of the Lord came unto
Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy
exceeding great reward.
Subject: Promised, Processed, and
Performance. Dr. Grant spoke on
promised, before the performance of the promise, there is a
process,
She gave us biblical characters in the bible that had promised, but
moreover had a processed before the performance could take
place.
The characters were; Jesus, (Brother Noah
Chatman) Mother Mary, (Evg. L Stevenson)
Abraham, (Bishop Gilbert) Joseph, (Missionary
Sandra Anderson) (Dr. Thelma Sorrells) as David.
She chose or asks for
volunteers to represent these
biblical characters.
Abraham character was
Bishop T. Gilbert.
Bishop Gilbert elaborated on the character
Abraham, the Lord spoke to Abram and told
him he would be the father of many nations. Abram
seed would be blessed and numbered as the sand on
the sea. Abram never staggered
at the promises of God.
Also as his wife Sarah was barren
and suggested that the handmaiden Haggar to
give birth to the seed of Abraham.
Brother Noah Chatman gave a depiction of Jesus
Christ one of the attributes he gave of Jesus, the
Great high priest after the order of Melchelsidek
Jesus set the standard of the real high priest, he
stated in the Garden of Gethsemane, let this cup
pass, nevertheless not my will but thy will be done, Jesus took on
the sinful flesh of mankind and bled suffered and die, sacrificed His
life for us. This was totality of promised, process, and now
performance.
All of the biblical characters played by the different
representatives gave a brief depiction of their
character, gave a stupendous job on acting out
their character.
Dr. Grant internalized each character afterward; she gave a
remarkable job in bridging what wasn’t
depicted about the biblical character.
Moreover Dr. Grant gave an astounding
topic on “Promised, Processed, and
Performance.
Before we as saints that are called to fulfill
the promises of God we must go through the process before our
performances will be manifested.
Dr. Grant had a very interactive class, she opened up multiple
viewpoints on our understanding of processed and performances.
She spoke under the anointing of God; the class was illuminated.
We enjoyed it immensely;
General Session Bible Class: Speaker: Bishop Harrison
Parker Rose of Sharon Apostolic Church
Bishop Harrison sang, “What Kind Of Church Is This”
Bishop Harrison stated he love Apostolic, he appreciates the
doctrine of Jesus Christ that was taught by the Apostles. Also he
stated there was a lot of suffering that has gone into this
Salvation.
Matt.1:21. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his
name Jesus: for he shall save his people from
their sins.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him,
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be
born again, he cannot see the kingdom of
God.
Bishop Parker said there are a lot of
erroneous doctrines; they say they are save. There is a process he
stated vigorously, people see the finish product but they don’t
realized what went into that process.
He stated of Nicodemus came to Jesus by night with the facetious
question, How can a man enter into his
mothers womb, Jesus cut through the fat
and went straight to the lean.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, except a man be born of water and of
the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom
of God.
He also quoted the scripture Acts 2:36-42, we cannot compromise
this doctrine or homogenize it.
He stated Rom.8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so
be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man has not the
Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
He hard-pressed upon us and said this would be a travesty for us
to lose our peculiarity, with some half-bake notion, if it’s not the
Apostle doctrine that they built, with Jesus Christ being the chief
Corner Stone, then another foundation are being laid.
John 1:17 for the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth
came by Jesus Christ.
He that believe and is baptized shall be saved, 1John 3, what
manner of love is this? We were in the cesspool of life, the Lord
reached down and pulled us out. The only thing that can destroy us
is our sins. Just as kryptonite is to superman as sin is to us.
Romans 6. Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound, God
forbid.
Bishop Parker echoed that the Apostolic doctrine was taught by
Jesus Christ to the apostles and it cannot be compromised nor
watered down.
We must maintain the doctrine and holiness of Jesus Christ.
2Thes.2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled,
neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the
day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for
that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and
that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.
He reference the boxer Sugar Ray Robinson, he showed how the
rigorous training, the fundamental
of the process that Ray Robinson within
his training, had to endure. Also having
to maintain these fundamentals to
retain his title.
He lost his title (Middleweight) to the
British fighter Randy Turpin in 1951, taking for granted he had it
sewed up forgetting what got him there; the fundamentals, the
discipline and the rigorous training.
Sugar Ray Robinson researched how he lost his title to Randy
Turpin, he was successful in regaining his title. But he had to return
to the principles and fundamentals that got
him there.
This was a great contrast with us as
Apostolic’s getting blind-sided by the enemy
and not staying in the press.
Bishop Parker Thoroughly brought the point home; of the Apostolic
doctrine he left no stones unturned. He gave us the old school
word of God with no fillers or additives, For the word of God is
quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the
joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of
the heart. Bishop Parker gave a remarkable message; The
Apostolic Doctrine of Holiness.
Dinner: Barbeque chicken, jerk chicken, mac-n-cheese, green
beans, glazed carrots, rolls, soda.

Marta Jordan. He stated God has kept him and he has endured.
Offertory:
Introduction of Speaker: Bishop Theodis Gilbert
Speaker: Elder Theodis Gilbert II, Calvary Apostolic Church,
Louisville, KY.
Elder Gilbert sang, “There’s Not A Friend”
Elder Gilbert use the passage from Matt.6:25-35
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for
your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink;
nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than
meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air:for
they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your
heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the
field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say
unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like
one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field,
which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not
much more clothe you, O ye of little faith.
Therefore take no thought, saying, What
shall we eat? or, What shall we drink?
or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the
Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father
knoweth that ye have need of all these
things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no
thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the
things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Elder Gilbert Subject: What Are You Thinking? He also
referenced the scripture Phil.4:8 what we need to think on, Finally,
brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever
things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be
any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
When we get stressed with financial woes, when we shortchange
God in tithes and offerings, we actually shortchange ourselves.
He stated with 8 kids and a wife, he said how long could he do this
living paycheck to paycheck.
He stated the children of Israel walked around forty years wearing
the same shoes and clothes and they never wore out.
Nevertheless the children of Israel still complained, because they
didn’t trust God.
But we as humans will trust a lying and a thieving friend.
God is not the kind of God needing to be shared, the Lord said in
the passage of His word three times, Take No Thought.
We must trust God seek ye first the Kingdom of God he stated.
God wants us to trust Him, he dwell in the mist of praises.
He quoted Luke 12:29 and seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what
ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do
the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that
ye have need of these things.
Elder Gilbert made the altar call and altar
prayer, he closed out singing, “Keep On The
Firing Line”
Final remarks were given by the CDC Chairman; District Elder
Sorrells
Saturday Morning:
The Service was open by the Chairman, in
the person of District Elder Derrick Sorrells,
singing, “I Know It Was The Blood” Nothing
But The Blood”
Prayer was led by, Elder Theodis Gilbert II,
preceded prayer; he sang, “I Am Praying
For You”
Brotherhood: Elder Charles Jackson, sang “I Got A Mind To
Walk right” and “Since Jesus Saved Me”
Subject: ‘There Is Still A Need To Be
Transformed”
Romans 12:01 I beseech you therefore,
brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable unto God, which is your
reasonable service. And be not conformed
to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect,
will of God.
Elder Jackson came out of the gate with vigorous energy; he
brought out a certain spiritual magnetism.
He said that transformation is needed in the
house of the Lord; we are being transformed
for total transformation. We need to make a
thorough and dramatic change.
He resonated there is no way we can have
an encounter with the Lord, and not be
changed.
1Cor.6:15-20
Know ye not that your bodies are the members of
Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ,
and make them the members of an harlot? God
forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined
to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be
one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one
spirit.
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body;
but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost
which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body,
and in your spirit, which are God's.
Elder Jackson was thorough, energetic, and effective, he made the
point with much comprehension.
Women Session: Speaker: Minister Audrey Turner
Minister Tecia Payne open with the song, “Surely I Will”
Speaker: Minister Audrey Turner sang, “Its
Going To Be Alright”
She referenced the scripture, John 2:19-20
Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy
this temple, and in three days I will raise it
up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years
were this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up
in three days.
John 11: 14, Then said Jesus unto them plainly,
Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that
I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go
unto him.
Minister Turner said that Jesus is able to resurrect, she stated that
Jesus said that body will be raised in three days.
Minister Turner gave us the importance of the power of
resurrection, she stated one day there will be resurrection and a
manifested glory. She was concise and effective we enjoyed it.
Business Meeting:
Conducted by the CDC Chairman District Elder Derrick Sorrells
Minutes were read, motion was taken as parliamentary procedure.
Youth Session: Chair: Elder Derrick Tye
Elder Tye use the passage of scripture,
Psalms 91:01 He that dwelleth in the secret
place of the most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my
fortress:
My God; in him will I trust.
Subject: The Fortress Of God, Elder Tye said that a palace and a
fortress were different.
He said any form of adversarial vices you can be protected.
He stated your mind is the key point of your soul.
Proverb 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence;
for out of it are the issues of life. He raises the question how do
we fortify our minds? He said the fight is greater than what we see.
He said when we have been called the
enemy began to test you there are many
traps set and snares placed by the enemy;
there are the terror by night; deception.
He went on to say protect yourself, let the
fortress be your protection.
Elder Tye laid a beautiful
foundation, and build thereon
within his message. The
Fortress of God”. He asks for
volunteers for a skit, this was
for visual aid; to paint the
picture more vivid.
He received three volunteers,
Minister Daley Jackson, Brother Donovan Gilbert and Missionary
Sandra Anderson.
The objective of the skit was to have the volunteers to quote as
many scriptures within 3 minutes as possible. Whoever quotes the
most will get one half of the amount of
scriptures that was quoted, they will
receive help within their fortress, for
example if you quoted ten scriptures you
would receive five people added to your
fortress.
Theses additions of people would be
needed to help answer the trivia questions that would be asked. If
you answered a question incorrectly you would lose one of your
people in your fortress, if you answered correctly you could add
someone from the audience to help strengthen your fortress.
Very riveting and exciting to say the least; a lot of jubilance from
the audience.
The grand prize was 5-7 valuable coupons; valued at $15.00 each.
The winner was Missionary Sandra Anderson and her fortress of
people who consisted of Elder Theodis Gilbert II 5-7 Children.
This was very well thought out, with various messages within it. We
enjoyed immensely.
Little Brother Robert Gilbert, the grandson of
Bishop Theodis Gilbert quoted Acts chapters
1-2 every verse with fluidly, time would permit
the continuation, but very impressive.
Youth Service:
Service was open by Elder Derrick Tye singing, “I Know It Was The
Blood” and “He’s Alright”
Minister Audrey Turner led prayer
The scripture was found, Psalms 34
read by Minister Daley Jackson
The CDC praise team in the persons
of, Minister Loren White, Minister Audrey Turner and
Sister Mia Sorrells.
Singing, I’m Looking For A Miracle” I Owe God A Praise” and I Can’t
Live Without You”
Elder Derrick
Tye sang, “I
Need Thee”
Welcome: Minister Latoya Masterson
Response: Elder Theodis Gilbert II
Pastor Carolyn Walker sang, “He’s A God”
Offertory
Ministry In Song: Evang. Sherita Taylor and her entourage sang,
“Look What The Lord Has Done”
Speaker: Elder David Fluellen, Greater Bethlehem Temple,
Columbus, OH.
Elder Fluellen sang, “He Never Fail Me Yet”
He use the passage of scripture Acts 9:1-5 And
Saul, yet breathing out threatening and slaughter
against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high
priest, And desired of him letters to Damascus to
the synagogues, that if he found any of this way,
whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto
Jerusalem.
And as he journeyed, he came near
Damascus: and suddenly there shined
round about him a light from heaven: And
he fell to the earth, and heard a voice
saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why
persecutest thou me? And he said, who
art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou
persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Acts 9:11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street
which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one
called Saul, of Tarsus for, behold, he prayeth.
Subject: “Don’t Forget To Remember” Elder Fluellen gave an
overview of Saul, the most outstanding thing about Saul he stated
was his zeal and passion.
Paul never forgot where he came from; whenever he stood before
Kings and royalty he always reminded them where he came from
and his wrap sheet of the things he did before he met Christ.
Elder Fluellen remembered where he was the drugs and alcohol,
the clubs as well as the after hour joints.
We must remember where we were; he stated he sold dope for
thirteen years.
He gave a compelling testimony while
sitting in the crack house, he said the Spirit
of the Lord convicted him right there.
He said don’t get so caught up; that you
will forget where the Lord has brought you
from.
He gave meaning to memory of your brain, the storage capacity it
has. Even If you can’t remember the brain he stated does not
delete the stored information.
The brain he says is the most powerful component in the body,
your memory can be short term or amnesia, but the brain does not
delete information.
Elder Fluellen gave a captivating word it was powerful and
anointed.
