Do you believe in ghosts? Well after reading this book, you will. This book is about the ten scariest places that nobody loves.

All these places have had paranormal activity. They are not only scary, but dangerous too!

2.

On the top of the list of disturbing places is Humberstone and Lanoria. This haunted place in Chile is a ghost town.

It used to be a mine where many people died. Also, inside houses in the town, people have heard voices and errie noises. In addition, skeletons were found under the floor.

There is also a massive cemetery where people saw ghosts rise out of the stones! At first when the mine bussness was big, there were many people in the town. but during the Great Depression, business declined and collapsed. By 1960 the place was abandoned, and the hauntings started.

At night figures were seen in the houses, and shadowy children were seen playing. People refuse to go near this haunted ghost town.

Next on the list of terrifying places is Hell Town. It is a haunted, abandoned town in Ohio. A long time ago, people started to vanish. As a result, everybody moved away.

The houses' doors opened and closed and people heard voices. Also, lights that do not work went on and off. In some houses walking sounds were heard in the attic. One time a car engine was turning on and off.

People may not enter the town because toxic gas was mysteriously spotted in the area. It was in the 1800's that the people started to disappear quickly so people evacuated to another town. It has been called many names including "highway to hell" and "figures in  the woods". Clearly, this place is very haunted.

This horrifying asylum in West Virginia was open from 1964 to 1994. Inside the building, many shadows and weird balls of light were seen. Also, some people vanished a long time ago.

Doors have been seen opening and closing at night. In the late 1880s and early 1900s many people started to die, and their bodies were left in cabinets. Now, the room with those cab inetshave voices in it.

Also, shadows of screaming paitents were reported. The guards were very cruel, so people say that the gaurds caused some of the negative energy. Tours are offered, but the doors closed and opened so many people did not continue the tour because they were so scared. This is one of the most haunted asylums ever built.

Alcatraz is an abandoned prison near San Francisco. It was first used as a military base. It has been operating from 1864 to 1963.

Did you know that the Indians called it "Evil Island"? The most chilling place in the prison is cell 14D. When a prisoner was put in the cell, he said that somthing was in there with him. The gaurds didn't believe him so they left. In the morning he was dead. Now people hear voices and see shadows in the cell. Some people think that it is a portal to an evil world. People feel watched and that their energy was drained inside the cell. For this reason, the cell was later closed off to tourists.

Some prisoners were hurt by gaurds and it is said that their angry spirit return at night.

Next up on the list of creepy places is an abandoned asylum in Ohio called the Ridges. Many patients were cruely tourtured, and that is the reason for the hauntings. Some nights, the doors closed and locked, and paitents shadows were seen screaming.

This asylum was operating from 1874 to 1993. Some uncurable paitents were killed a long time ago, and their bodies were left on the ground. In the asylum there is a high window that many people jumped out of and under the window, a little plopping shound has been heard.

One morning there was a marker on the ground and "Leave before they harvest your corpse" was written on the wall. Nobody ever found out who or what wrote that. The asylum was closed due to all the deaths and disease.

This is also an abandoned asylum in Philadelphia. It was operating from 1906 to 2008. The gaurds were very cruel and tortured patients. Many people died there. One night voices were heard, and a window shattered.

Some paitents mysteriously vanished a long time ago. Some patients were treated so badly, they jumped out of tall windowos. Voices calling for help were heard on the ground below.

Dead paitents were thrown into a cellar below, and shadows have been seen down there. The door to the cellar was seen shaking during the night. The place is as scary as a room full of tarantulas.

14.

This is a normal looking house in Florida. But the activities inside the house  were not so normal. When it was being built, workers' tools were thrown onto the ground below.

A long time ago the family living in the house died within 48 hours. Inside the house, furniture moved, the lights went on and off, and the doors opened and closed. Also shadows were seen in the windows.

This place has had alot of death in and around it. It was first used as a funeral parlor and than later as a private residence with a family who died. There is also a cemetery across the street.

Soon after the family died, the house was rebuilt across the street, but workers had tools thrown out of windows and workers heard chains rattling and murrmering so many workers quit, and never went near the house again. In recent years, windows have been reported to break, and voices have been heard coming from inside the house.

One of the scariest areas on the list is the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum in Cambodia. This place was a prison that held adults, kids, and even babies. The babies were killed for amusement, and only one out of thousands of babies survived.

Over 100,000 people entered, but only two people survived. It was a prison during a war, and mostly Asians were held there. Gaurds would first tourture a person and then kill them at a place called the killing fields.

There are currently many sounds at night, and a picture was mysteriously drawn on a wall. It is now a museum where you can take tours.

This place has many hauntings going on including voices and strange lights. This would not be a good place to visit at night.

This extremely haunted place in Tennessee has had many paranormal aivities occur inside of it. This cave is about 490 feet long. There are over 300 tunnels, and many of them we have not seen yet.

A long time ago, a woman accused of being a witch was burned to death in the cave. Soon after, people started to mysteriously disappear and die. There were no toxins or disease going around. Also the house of the Bell Witch had lights on, and the fire place was lit up!

Now, tours are offered but they do not let you go deep inside the cave. Most of the cave is blocked off to the public. One time, a boy went exploring in the cave and got stuck in a hole. When he yelled for help, a female voice whispered, "I will save you". Soon, his legs were pulled out of the hole. It is said that it was the Bell Witch that saved the boy!

People say that the Bell Witch walks around the area at night. On a tour, a shadowy figure was seen behind a rock, and later during the tour, a female voice was heard whispering.

Now, for the most haunted place on the list- The Mines of Paris. This extremely haunted place reaches over 700 feet below street level, and is 400 miles long. Nobody knows how deep it is.

In the tunnels, there are over 1,785 million skeletons! The place is completely filled with bones. That is all you see. Most of the bones are thousands of years old.

The Mines of Paris are a mass grave better known as the Catacombs. The Catacombs are a library, completely silent. There are many weird sighns and sculpures made only out of bones! This place has been sealed off to people for decades, but a few years ago, a man went in but never came out. The reason so many bones are there is because a long time ago the cemetery was full, so they threw the bodies into the Catacombs. You would not want to go and visit this place.
