As far as religion goes, it is not the most prominent feature in The Queendom Quadrilateral, but still the basis of the cultures.
Parallelism is a religion created long ago in the mountains near the capitol, Cybele. A top the ancient baboon mountain, covered in hot springs, the god Cabrakan came down to earth thousands of years ago. When it touched earth, it took the form of a baboon, and started its own tribe. As the baboons lived on earth for longer, it is said that they began to evolved into human forms. When Cabrakan decided that they had evolved enough to survive on their own, it went back into the sky, leaving them with a book of guidelines to follow. This book was called The Parallelogram, and was not a hard set rule book, just a set of suggestions which would lead to a better life. Most of the works in this book refer to the 12 musts:
1) be kind, but never a pushover
2) respect your elders, and they will do the same to you
3) eat your vegetables
4) take as many hot bubble baths as possible
5) education is important, but mental health is more
6) think before you speak
7) money make the world go rough
8) never leave something on an odd number
9) never use capital letters unless it's the entire word
10) one meal a day must be of Tex-Mex Origin
12) abuse of another living creature is illegal
There is only one God, Cabrakan, who's gender is unknown and is the the child of Caesar, who started monkeyism. And it is said that for it to hear your prayer, you should stand parallel with a tree which is home to a baboon. Each home has their own tree and family baboon, whose children are passed down through the generations. The baboons are not revered or allowed to roam freely, but they are a reminder of Cabrakan that should be treated with care. There is no certain way to dress, or any foods they cannot eat, for they believe in making your own decisions. The religion is not allowed near anything having to do with political governings. But all religion is kept out of the government and major decisions for the nation.
Each settlement has changed this in ways to suit their needs, but it has stayed constant through the years and throughout the nation, shaping their cultures.
