 DIVORCE

Divorce affects a family in many ways. My parents divorce when I was only 2 years old. I live with my mother on the weeks and my father on the weekends. When I was younger I didn’t understand it, but now I have experienced it. It is difficult to live in two different houses, neither one having all of your belongings. It is also hard having your parents not get along. I cannot picture my parents together, but I do wish they could at least be able to get along. I would love to be able to share all of my experiences with both my parents, but that is simply impossible. The relationship my parents have is very complicated and being their only “shared property”, I likely get stuck in the middle.

How the Loss of Innocence Helps a Person Grow

It was the quintessential summer night; warm breeze, breathtaking sunset, and Wednesday night fireworks. I remember I was swinging by myself while my family sat together on the ground. Suddenly a small girl, about 5 or 6 years old, took a seat next to me. I can no longer recall the girl’s name, but I distinctly remember her.  With excited eyes, she spoke rapidly, while I had a difficult time absorbing everything she was saying. First, she told me her name and asked what mine was. She went on to tell me everything about her life, like how her parents would fight and get angry with each other all the time. When she talked to me, she spoke as though we had known eachother for a lot longer than the 5 minutes since she had sat down. Most people would find it comical to have a child talk to them in this way. However, I felt distress for her. Children start out full, like a class of water. They are content and see everything bright in the world. As they grow older, a small leak develops in their cup, exposing them to the outside world. This exposure causes the leak to grow, until there are only drops left at the very bottom of the cup. In other words, when children grow up they start to recognize more of their surroundings, they not only see the brightness, they can acknowledge the darkness. This is when a child starts to lose their innocence. However, the loss of innocence is not always a negative thing. In fact, we need it to grow. By seeing the world for what it really is, we are able to succeed and be realistic. I hope that little girl grows up with a life full of happiness, and I hope she didn’t suffer too much to get there.

 LYRICS

 "Vienna"

Slow down you crazy child

You're so ambitious for a juvenile

But then if you're so smart tell me,

Why are you still so afraid? (mmmmm)

Where's the fire, what's the hurry about?

You better cool it off before you burn it out

You got so much to do and only

So many hours in a day (Ay)

But you know that when the truth is told

That you can get what you want

Or you can just get old

You're gonna kick off before you even get halfway through (Oooh)

When will you realize... Vienna waits for you?

Slow down you're doing fine

You can't be everything you want to be before your time

Although it's so romantic on the borderline tonight (tonight)

Too bad, but it's the life you lead

You're so ahead of yourself that you forgot what you need

Though you can see when you're wrong

You know you can't always see when you're right (you're right)

You got your passion, you got your pride

But don't you know that only fools are satisfied?

Dream on, but don't imagine they'll all come true (Oooh)

When will you realize... Vienna waits for you?

Slow down you crazy child

Take the phone off the hook and disappear for a while

It's alright, you can afford to lose a day or two (oooh)

When will you realize... Vienna waits for you?

And you know that when the truth is told

That you can get what you want or you can just get old

You're gonna kick off before you even get halfway through (oooh)

Why don't you realize... Vienna waits for you?

When will you realize... Vienna waits for you?

These are pictures of my sister’s dogs, Roxanne and Ralphy. I take care of them sometimes. They are pit bulls/pit bull mixes. The few stories that made the news have led people to believe that the pitbull is a dangerous dog. Pit bulls are very powerful animals, so when something does go wrong, it usually makes the news. In truth, pit bulls are misunderstood. They are no more vicious than the Golden Retriever, or in fact, any other popular dog breed. Pit bulls are a very well-liked breed, and rarely attack. They are also really good with children. Statistics show that pitbulls always test high as one of the most stable breed of dogs in the country. This data can be found with the American Temperament Test Society of the United States, in which they always score as one of the top five most stable dogs. This makes them extremely patient and tolerant of children. Pitbulls are also easy to train and can get along with other pets. The only reason pitbulls get a bad reputation is because of irresponsible owners and being mistreated.

"In the '70s they blamed Dobermans, in the '80s they blamed German shepherds, in the '90s they blamed the Rottweiler. Now they blame the pit bull." - Cesar Millan

REALIZATION OF LIFE

To be alive is more than the gentle pounding of a heartbeat. It is love, it is loss, and it is knowing that it could all be gone tomorrow.

SUMMER, COME SOON

Crackling of the campfire

Intoxicated by its fragrance

Which stains my skin from head to toe

Wake up with nowhere to be

Endless possibility

The sun is our alarm clock

The beach fills with tourists

Countless umbrellas laid out in the sand

The mountains fill with campers

The peacefulness of nature surrounds

"What I Should Say"

I don’t mean to hurt you

With my lack of words

I need you to know

But I cannot explain

For, I, Myself, have no clue

What I’m suppose to say to you

My hands tremble in my lap

The only answer I have is my tears

I can’t let you know me

Even if I wanted you to

 End Notes

I know I did not fully complete this project, and I am very sorry about that. I had a difficult time doing this, I over-thought it way to much, and in the end that's what cost me. I hope you like what I did get done.
