If he runs the bases, then he will start to like to run.

If he starts to like to run, then he will start to run on his own.

If he starts to run on his own, then he will join the cross country team.

If he joins the cross country team, then he will make new friends.

If he makes new friends, then he will have fun.

If he has fun, then he will be happy.
